NORMAN – Oklahoma men's tennis head coach Nick Crowell announced the addition of Tito Chavez to the squad, beginning in the fall of 2026.
"We've been watching Tito for a long while" Crowell said. "We love his game, work ethic and everything he will bring to the program."
Chavez hails from Quito, Ecuador and achieved a career-high world junior ranking of 20. He advanced all the way to the round of 16 in the 2025 US Open Junior Championships. Chavez has won seven doubles ITF World Junior titles and five singles ITF World Junior titles. He was tabbed as the No. 1 junior player in Spain in the 18 and under division.
The Ecuador native notes his European Championship and Spanish championship runs as his most notable career accomplishments alongside his two ATP points he has earned.
"He plays with heart and grit and he will bring a lot of international grand slam experience to the program" Crowell added. "We are very excited to get started in the fall."
The incoming freshman intends to major in business.
