NORMAN — Despite facing sustained winds around 30 miles per hour and gusts much greater than that, No. 4 Oklahoma (28-2, 3-0 SEC) blew by (RV) Auburn (19-10, 2-4 SEC), 14-2, in five innings Sunday, March 15 at Love's Field.
OU completed the sweep of Auburn with the win, giving the Sooners their fifth series sweep since joining the Southeastern Conference last year.
Kendall Wells homered twice, bringing her to 21, good for the nation's best mark.
OU 14, Auburn 2 (5 inn.)
Kasidi Pickering put OU up 2-0 with a two-out two-RBI double in the bottom of the second inning. Auburn freshman Daigle Wilson responded, hitting a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the frame.
The Sooners scored 12 unanswered runs after posting seven unanswered yesterday, running away with the win thanks to a nine-run fourth inning.
Kai Minor doubled in two runs and scored on an
Ailana Agbayani RBI groundout in the third inning.
But, it was the fourth inning that set the Sooners en route to the run-rule win. Wells homered twice and drove in five in that frame alone, while
