February 28, 2026 | Women's Basketball

NORMAN — No. 7 Oklahoma (22-6, 10-5 SEC) looks to close the regular season with a six-game winning streak as it faces Missouri (16-14, 4-11 SEC) in the regular season finale at Mizzou Arena in Columbia on Sunday.

Tip is set for 3 p.m. CT on SEC Network+ and fans can listen on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (107.7 FM) with Brian Brinkley and Tyler Neal, or in Spanish on Los Sooners Radio (1560 AM) with Danny Gonzales. Both broadcasts will stream on the Varsity App.

The Sooners have clinched the No. 5 seed at next week's SEC Tournament, matching last season's seed. OU will face the winner of Wednesday's matchup between the No. 12 and No. 13 seeds on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network. Oklahoma was picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll, marking the 12th time in 14 seasons as a head coach that a Jennie Baranczyk team has met or exceeded preseason conference expectations.

LAST TIME OUT

No. 7 Oklahoma (22-6, 10-5 SEC) won its fifth straight game Thursday night, defeating Arkansas 89-44 at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Following the game, the Sooners honored seniors Raegan Beers, Beatrice Culliton and Payton Verhulst. With the win, Oklahoma clinched the No. 5 seed at the SEC Tournament. The Sooners recorded double-digit conference wins for the fifth straight season under Jennie Baranczyk. OU was locked into a Thursday tip time as it could not earn a seed higher than No. 5 in Greenville after LSU defeated Tennessee earlier that night.

The 45-point margin was Oklahoma's second-largest in an SEC game, trailing only a 48-point win over Mississippi State earlier this season. It also marked the third-largest conference victory for the Sooners since 2009. Arkansas' 44 points were the fifth-fewest allowed by OU in a conference game in that span, and Oklahoma improved to 71 straight wins when holding opponents under 60 points. All five Oklahoma starters scored in double figures for the second straight game.

SERIES HISTORY

Sunday is the 62nd all-time meeting between Oklahoma and Missouri and the Sooners hold a 32-29 series lead. The Sooners are 2-0 against the Tigers in the Baranczyk era, winning both matchups last season.

OU's eight-game winning streak over Mizzou its the program's second-longest active winning streak over a Division I team, and the longest over a Power Five opponent. The Sooners haven't lost to MU since March 11, 2008, in Kansas City, and haven't dropped a regular season contest since Jan. 28, 2004, in Columbia. Overall, Oklahoma has won 17 of the last 19 meetings dating back to 2000.

THE FAST BREAK

• In last year's game vs. Mizzou in Norman, Payton Verhulst scored 38 points, the fifth most by a Sooner ever in a single game.

• Freshman guard Aaliyah Chavez broke the SEC record of consecutive made FTs with her 48th straight make in OU's win over Arkansas on Feb. 26. The streak currently sits at 49 straight and the guard 93.1% free throw percentage would set an NCAA freshman record. Chavez trails Taylor Robertson's OU record of 59 straight makes. The NCAA record is 75 makes in a row by Michelle Gaislerova of N. Dakota State from 2018-20. The freshman surpassed 500 points on the season in OU's win over Arkansas, becoming the fifth Sooner freshman ever to score 500 points and the first since Aaryn Ellenberg in 2011.

• The Sooners are averaging a program-record 87.3 points per game, a mark that ranks fourth nationally and would surpass last season's school record of 84.7. Oklahoma's starting five combine to score 69.5 points per game, the second-highest total by any starting unit in the country behind only South Carolina. The Sooner offense has set a program record with seven 100-point games and tied the school record with 12 games scoring 90 or more. OU also ranks among the national leaders in several offensive categories, leading the country in pace (79.0) while ranking second in second-chance points (17.4), fourth in fast-break points (17.2), fifth in assists (20.1) and fifth in points in the paint (43.5).

• When adjusted for pace, Oklahoma's defense ranks among the nation's best. The Sooners own a defensive rating of 83.3, which ranks 14th nationally, and hold opponents to just 34.9% shooting, the seventh-lowest mark in the country. OU also averages 5.2 blocks per game, 17th nationally, and forces 18.0 turnovers per contest. Baranczyk's team has allowed only five opponents to exceed their season scoring average and have held a program record nine teams under 30% shooting this season.

• A win would give OU six straight, marking the ninth six-game winning streak of the Jennie Baranczyk era. The Sooners had a 13-game streak earlier this season, have produced a six-game conference run in each of the last three seasons and closed the 2024-25 regular season with seven straight wins.
