NORMAN — No. 5/6 Oklahoma Softball (14-2) tallied four innings of at least six runs while posting 23 hits in a 32-0 win against Alabama State (6-12) Thursday, Feb. 26 at Love's Field.
The Sooners' 32 runs set a program record for most runs scored in a home opener, breaking the previous mark of 17 set in 1977.
13 different Sooners tallied at least one hit, while 10 notched a multi-hit day. Oklahoma posted innings of 11, six, seven and eight runs, bringing OU to 20 innings of five runs or more this season.

Oklahoma's torrid offense started in the first inning as the Sooners scored 11 runs on seven hits while sending 14 batters to the plate.
Kendall Wells and
Gabbie Garcia both homered in the inning, while
Ella Parker also doubled in three on a ball that was inches from becoming a grand slam.
The hitting barrage continued in the bottom of the second.
Kasidi Pickering hit a three-run homer and Wells followed with a solo shot a batter later. After
Ella Parker was hit by a pitch, it was
Allyssa Parker that homered her in.
Chaney Helton homered and
Abby Dayton doubled twice to highlight a seven-run third inning as the Sooners used six hits and three walks. Oklahoma had 11 batters reached base in the fourth as the Sooners scored eight to finish the night.
