LAS CRUCES, N.M. — OU's hot hitting weekend continued Saturday as the No. 4 Sooners (7-1) defeated Minnesota, 12-2, and Idaho State, 10-1, on Oklahoma's final day at the Troy Cox Classic in Las Cruces, N.M.
Oklahoma clubbed five home runs, two of which came from
Kasidi Pickering, upping the Sooners' home run total to 32 through eight games.
Miali Guachino earned her second win in as many days, while
Allyssa Parker and Audry Lowry teamed up for 4.2 scoreless innings against Idaho State.
No. 4 Oklahoma 12, Minnesota 2
Ella Parker started the scoring by legging out an infield single, scoring Pickering for the 1-0 lead. Minnesota responded with two solo home runs in the bottom of the first, taking its only lead of the game.
OU replied with an eight-run blitz in the top of the second inning, sending 12 to the plate while notching seven hits. Pickering sliced a three-run home run inside the left field foul pole, Parker launched a two-run shot to center and the Sooners added three more on an
Isabela Emerling RBI single,
Abby Dayton RBI sac bunt and
Kai Minor RBI groundout.
The Sooners reached run-rule range with two runs in the third on a
Sydney Barker RBI double and
Nelly McEnroe-Marinas sac fly.
Tia Milloy added another sac fly in the fourth as Guachino shut down Minnesota over the final three frames.

OU scored runs in the first, second, third and fourth inning, plating at least 10 runs for the fourth time on the weekend. Minor provided the big blow in the first, tripling in two to make it 4-0.
Pickering hit a towering three-run home run to right in the second, Minor followed with her own two-run shot over the scoreboard in the third and the Sooners completed their scoring with a Garcia solo shot to left in the fourth.
Idaho State scored its lone run on a solo home run.
