2027 OU-SMU Football Game Moved to AT&T Stadium

February 12, 2026 | Football

NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma and SMU announced Thursday that the schools' Sept. 11, 2027, football game originally scheduled to be played at SMU's Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas is moving to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The game will mark OU's ninth at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The Sooners are 6-2 at the venue, including 5-0 in Big 12 Conference championship games. They have won the last five times they played there.

"We were happy to work with SMU and AT&T Stadium to make this happen, as it will allow more fans of both programs to attend and cheer in person," said OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. "While our program's history at AT&T Stadium is somewhat short, it has certainly been meaningful, with five league championships and a Cotton Bowl title secured there. So we're excited to be able to make this move to a premier venue that has treated us so well."

The 2027 OU-SMU contest is the second of a two-game home-and-home series. The Sooners beat the Mustangs 28-11 in Norman on Sept. 9, 2023, and lead the all-time series 6-1-1.

From 1979 to 1986, SMU played all of its home games at the Cowboys' home, then Texas Stadium.

Ticket information and game time will be announced later.
