WBB Game Preview: Oklahoma Welcomes Gators to Norman for Go Red for Women Night

February 11, 2026 | Women's Basketball

NORMAN — No. 10 Oklahoma (17-6, 5-5 SEC) returns to Norman for its lone home game over a five-game stretch on Thursday night as Florida (15-11, 3-8 SEC) comes to the Lloyd Noble Center.

Tip is set for 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+ with Chad McKee (play-by-play) and Bryndon Manzer (analyst) on the call. Fans can listen on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (107.7 FM) with Brian Brinkley and Carolyn Baker, or in Spanish on Los Sooners Radio (1560 AM) with Luis Rendon, with both broadcasts streaming on the Varsity App.

Tickets are still available for sale through the Oklahoma Ticket Office.

The Sooners will wear their crimson uniforms for the program's Go Red for Women game, raising awareness for women's cardiovascular health. Fans are encouraged to wear crimson. Oklahoma has worn crimson at home just twice since 2013 – a loss to Duke in 2013 and a win over Oklahoma State in 2024. The Go Red for Women initiative, spearheaded by the American Heart Association, highlights that cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Launched in 2004, the initiative has raised more than $800 million for women's cardiovascular health.

LAST TIME OUT

Oklahoma (17-6, 5-5 SEC) dropped its second consecutive game to a top-five opponent, falling on the road at No. 5 Vanderbilt on Monday night, 102-86. Oklahoma struggled to slow Vanderbilt down in the first half as the Commodores' 31 first-quarter points were the most OU had allowed in a frame all season. Vanderbilt's 59 points in the first half were the most the Sooners had allowed in any half since Utah scored 70 in the first half of a 2022 game. The Sooners outpaced Vanderbilt by two in the third quarter but never cut the deficit to single digits as the Commodores won by 16.

Raegan Beers finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds, logging her nation-leading 17th double-double of the season as the center has reached double-digit points in 20 straight games. Sahara Williams posted a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double in 28 minutes. The forward has registered a career-high six double-doubles this season.

THE STARTING FIVE NOTES

• OU's third-leading scorer, junior Sahara Williams, enters Thursday two points shy of 1,000 career points. The forward is in the midst of a career season, setting personal bests in points (12.5), rebounds (8.0), double-doubles (6), assists (4.0), steals (1.0) and field goal percentage (47.8%). The Waterloo, Iowa, native would become the 40th Sooner to reach 1,000 career points in an Oklahoma uniform. She would join Raegan Beers and Payton Verhulst, both transfers who reached the milestone at OU, giving the Sooners three active 1,000-point scorers –  a mark matched by only six other SEC trios.

• Freshman guard Aaliyah Chavez and senior All-America center Raegan Beers – both Wooden Award late midseason top-20 finalists – form one of the nation's most productive duos and are each top-10 finalists for their respective positional Player of the Year honors. The pair combines to average 34.5 points per game, ranking third among SEC tandems and in the top 10 among Power Five duos. With Chavez and Beers on the floor together, Oklahoma outscores opponents by 33.0 points per 100 possessions while posting a defensive rating in the 98th percentile nationally.

• While Oklahoma's offense often draws the spotlight, the Sooner defense has been the engine behind this season's success. OU ranks fifth nationally in opponent field goal percentage (33.8%) and 10th nationally in defensive rating (81.5 pts/100 poss.). On average, the Sooners hold opponents 10.7 points below their scoring average and 10.3% below their season field goal percentage. Only one team (Ole Miss) has shot above its season field goal percentage against Oklahoma this year, and just four opponents have exceeded their season scoring average.

• The Oklahoma offense continues to operate at an elite level, averaging 88.0 points per game – a pace that would break the program record set last season (84.7 PPG). The Sooners rank fourth nationally in scoring offense and are powered by a starting five that averages 69.2 combined points per game, more than all but one starting unit in the country. OU also ranks among the national leaders in multiple offensive categories, including pace (78.7, 1st), second-chance points (17.2, 3rd), fast-break points (17.9, 4th), assists (20.5, 4th) and points in the paint (43.9, 7th).

• A victory pushes Oklahoma's winning streak in home conference games to 19 straight as the Sooners haven't dropped a home game to an unranked conference opponent since Kansas beat OU 73-67 on March 5, 2022. Overall, OU has won 30 in a row against unranked foes at the LNC with the last loss coming to Southern on Dec. 22, 2023.

SERIES HISTORY

Thursday is the fourth all-time meeting between Oklahoma and Florida, and the third in the Baranczyk era. All-time OU leads the series 2-1, but is 2-0 since 2021, winning in 2022 at the Jumpman Invitational and last season in Gainesville.

UP NEXT

The Sooners travel to Tuscaloosa on Sunday to face No. 23 Alabama in OU's ninth ranked matchup of the season. Tip is set for 3 p.m. on SEC Network.
