Meg Tilma, lead, 2025

Tilma First, Sooners Third at Schooner Fall Classic

September 20, 2025 | Women's Golf

NORMAN – True freshman Meg Tilma fired rounds of 67 (-3) and a 65 (-5) on Saturday to move to 8-under and is tied for the lead heading into the final round of the 13th annual Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club. Oklahoma sits third in the team race after 36 holes.

Four Sooners (T2, -8) are inside the top 15, with Tilma, competing unattached in her collegiate debut, leading the way. Senior, Reagan Chaney, is one shot behind her teammate in the hunt for the individual title.

"We played solid today, especially in the afternoon," 17th-year head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell. "I was proud of the way we fought back to get in the mix. We'll be ready to go tomorrow morning and give it our best run."

It was a strong showing for Drouin-Luttrell's freshman class, as Tilma (T1, -8) and Ellison Lundquist (T8, -4) are playing unattached and in the top 10, while Earn Thiengsri (T14, -3) is in contention. Senior Reagan Chaney led early in the second round and wrapped up day one at the 54-hole tournament in a tie for third, one back of the lead.

"We had a bunch of different players step up today," Drouin-Luttrell said. "To see our freshmen show out like they did, and Reagan continue her strong play, was really encouraging."

In Saturday's opening round, the Sooners started slow but steadied their scorecard around the turn as Chaney and Thiengsri combined for three birdies over the first four holes on the back nine to move OU under par.

The afternoon round was stronger for the Sooners as Savannah Barber fired a 68, Thiengsri posted a 68 and Chaney was under par with a 67. OU's second-round 204 (-6) was the third-lowest team score of the session.

Tilma and Chaney are chasing the Schooner's 54-hole record since the event switched to a par-70 layout. TCU's Caitlyn Macnab won in 2022 with a 10-under 200, a mark that they can surpass in the final round. Additionally, a sub-199 final mark from the either would set OU's program record for lowest 54-hole score.

Tilma, whose mom Cathy (née Stevens) won the 1991 Big Eight championship for Oklahoma, notched the eighth-lowest round in program history with her 65 and set a new OU freshman record.

Chaney (T3, -7) paced the Sooners' lineup with rounds of 66 (-4) and 67 (-3) to share third. The Ardmore, Okla., product is seeking her sixth career top-five finish.

Lundquist (T8, -4) made her debut with back-to-back 68s (-2) and shares eighth.

Thiengsri (T14, -3) posted rounds of 69 (-1) and 68 (-2) to move into the top 15 at 3-under par.

Barber (T29, E) is even, highlighted by her 3-under 67 in the second round.

Gracie Mayo (T36, +2) and Isabelle Schlick (T66, +7) rounded out the OU lineup, while Raychel Nekle (T55, +5) and Audrey Rischer (T66, +7) competed as individuals.

The Sooners are chasing No. 22 Oklahoma State (1, -16), who leads Iowa State by seven shots.

The final round is slated for a 10 a.m. CT shotgun start on Sunday.

Clippd will provide live scoring for the event.
