Laccinole Named SEC Freshman of the Week

First-Ever Honor for an OU Sooner
NORMAN — Oklahoma Soccer Freshman Ally Laccinole was named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office Monday, Aug. 18. It's the first-ever honor for an OU soccer player after the Sooners joined the conference a year ago.
Laccinole helped Oklahoma to a 2-0 start to the season with a pair of 4-1 wins against Creighton and No. 22 Oklahoma State, picking up an assist over two starts. The freshman back logged all 90 minutes during the win against OSU, while playing in 59 in her collegiate debut against the Blue Jays.
OU's win against No. 22 Oklahoma State was its first ranked win since the 2022 season and first ranked win against OSU since 2018.
The Sooners continue the non-conference slate Thursday, Aug. 21 against East Texas A&M at 7 p.m.
