TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — No. 22/23 Alabama (29-16, 6-8 SEC) scored first and stayed ahead as No. 2/2 Oklahoma Softball (36-4, 10-4 SEC) dropped a 6-1 decision at Rhoads Stadium Sunday, April 13. The two teams will play in a rubber game tomorrow at 6 p.m. on SEC Network.
Alabama 6, OU 1
After a hit by pitch and single to center, Alabama's Lauren Johnson put the Crimson Tide up, 1-0, with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the second. Kristen White flared an RBI single to right to make it 2-0 before
Kierston Deal got Audrey Vandegriff to groundout to
Ailana Agbayani to end the threat.
Kali Heivilin made it 3-0 Crimson Tide with a solo home run down the left field line in the third inning. Alabama scored another in the fourth via a sacrifice fly and Abby Duchscherer made it 6-0 with a two-run home run in the fifth.
Sydney Barker hit a solo homer to left center in the seventh as the Sooners avoided the shutout.
