Landry Spins Ninth Complete Game, Sooners Score Five Runs in the Seventh Inning

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — With one out and one on in the top of the seventh, Maya Bland hit a pinch-hit two-run home run to right field to give No. 2/2 Oklahoma (36-3, 10-3 SEC) a 2-1 lead as the Sooners' seventh inning rally fueled a 5-1 win against No. 22/23 Alabama (28-16, 5-8 SEC). Not to be lost on the day was Sam Landry's ninth complete game of the season as she fanned six and only allowed one earned run on three hits.

Oklahoma tallied all five of its runs in the seventh inning, giving OU its 13th comeback win of the year.

Bland has hit a game-winning home run in consecutive games after launching a go-ahead three-run home run against No. 18/17 Oklahoma State Wednesday in the Sooners' 11-3 victory.

OU 5, Alabama 1
Sam Landry fanned three through the first two innings, while also stranding the bags loaded in the first as both teams were tied up, 0-0, through two and a half innings.

Alabama's Audrey Vandagriff doubled and eventually scored on a sac fly to put the Crimson Tide up, 1-0, after three innings.

Cydney Sanders walked and Sydney Barker singled to start the fifth, but Alabama escaped as things remained 1-0 Crimson Tide.

Oklahoma's big seventh inning featured five runs, but the biggest blow was Bland's go-ahead pinch hit two-run home run with one away.

The Sooners kept their foot on the gas as Abigale Dayton walked, Kadey Lee McKay reached on an infield single and Ailana Agbayani doubled in Dayton. Kasidi Pickering made it a two-hit day with an RBI single to left and Nelly McEnroe-Marinas plated OU's fifth run with an RBI squeeze bunt.

Landry worked a scoreless seventh to earn the complete game.
