Hicks Paces Sooners With Four RBIs, Garcia Ties OU Record for Doubles in a Game

ARLINGTON, Texas — No. 3 Oklahoma Softball (32-3) posted its second eight-run inning in the last week as the Sooners dispatched UT Arlington (21-14) in five innings, 13-2, Tuesday, April 1.

Oklahoma was paced by Corri Hicks' four-RBI night that included her first career home run. Kasidi Pickering extended her hitting streak to 11 games and Gabbie Garcia tied an OU single game record with three doubles in three trips to the plate. Not lost on the evening was a 3-for-3 day from Tia Milloy as she scored three times and drove in three more.

OU 13, UT Arlington 2 (5 inn.)
Oklahoma plated four in the top of the second to take a 4-0 lead. After a leadoff double by Garcia and single from Cydney Sanders, UT Arlington settled down to get the next two batters. With two away, Milloy slashed a two-RBI single over the third base bag. Hicks followed up with a two-run home run to left center, her first career roundtripper.

The Sooners added another to make it 5-0 in the third. Pickering singled and Garcia doubled her to third before Sanders plated Pickering with a squeeze bunt.

The Mavericks scored their only two runs in the third inning. After a walk and an error, UTA followed with a single and double to cut their deficit to 5-2. Isabella Smith buckled down to get a strikeout and induce a lineout to Nelly McEnroe-Marinas before she tagged the runner at third out for a double play.

Oklahoma batted around, tying its season high for runs scored in an inning with eight in the fourth. Milloy singled on a bunt, stole second and scored on a McEnroe-Marinas RBI single laced over the first baseman's glove. Pickering followed with a three-run homer to center. Garcia clubbed her third double of the game to restart the rally, while Sanders and Kadey Lee McKay walked before Sydney Barker singled in Garcia. Milloy hooked an RBI single to right and Hicks made it 13-2 with a two-RBI base hit up the middle.

Paytn Monticelli worked 1.2 innings out of the bullpen to bring OU to the 13-2 win.
