• The Sooners dropped both games last week to top-15 foes, falling by seven at No. 7 LSU and by nine against No. 12 Kentucky. It marked the first time that OU had dropped consecutive games this season. Oklahoma has only dropped three straight games twice over the last four seasons under head coach Jennie Baranczyk.
• The Sooners head into Thursday night ranked 15th in the AP poll, 16th in the WBCA poll, and 18th in the NET. Oklahoma has appeared in every AP poll this season, opening at No. 10 and climbing as high as No. 8. The team is currently on a 22-week streak appearing in the AP poll – the fourth longest in program history and the longest since a 40-week run from 2015 to 2017. Ole Miss enters the night 11th in the NET – OU's seventh NET top-20 opponent this season.
• Oklahoma has tackled the 21st-toughest schedule in the nation this season, facing eight top-25 opponents along with a road matchup against a team receiving votes in the AP poll. The Sooners have already secured three Quad 1 wins, with five of their seven remaining games coming against Quad 1/2 teams. OU has already squared off against the three teams picked ahead of them in the preseason SEC poll (USC, LSU, Texas). All six of Oklahoma's losses have come in Quad 1 games.
• Thursday night marks the end of what may be the toughest stretch of opponents Oklahoma basketball has faced in over a decade. Since January 19, the Sooners have battled No. 2 South Carolina, No. 7 LSU, No. 12 Kentucky, and Georgia. The grueling run concludes with a road matchup against Ole Miss, which boasts a 9-2 record in Oxford. Through its first 10 SEC games, Oklahoma's opponents have combined for a 51-39 (.567) record in league play. Meanwhile, the Sooners' final six conference games (after Ole Miss) will come against teams with a combined SEC record of 18-36 (.333).
• Powered by a then-career-high 24 points and a double-double from Sahara Wiliams, Oklahoma defeated No. 12 Ole Miss in Oxford last season, 80-70.
• Push Oklahoma back to .500 in conference play. Oklahoma enters Thursday under. 500 in league play at the midway point of the slate or later for the first time since 2020-21.
• Mark Oklahoma's fourth Quad 1 victory (at Tenn, vs. Michigan, at Louisville).
• The Sooners host Auburn at Lloyd Noble Center on Monday (Feb. 10) at 7 p.m. The game will air on SEC Network.
