Sooners Set for MountainView Collegiate

NORMAN – Oklahoma women's golf returns to action March 2-4 at the MountainView Collegiate, held at The Preserve Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

Juniors Gracie Mayo, MaKayla Tyrrell and Savannah Barber, along with freshman Audrey Rischer and senior Reagan Chaney will tee off for the Sooners. Redshirt sophomore Raychel Nelke will play as an individual, unattached from the counting lineup.

LAST TIME OUT
In their last time on the course, the Sooners played in the Spartan Sun Coast Individual, finishing third and placing three golfers in the top 15.

Rischer and Tyrrell ended the event 3-under par to tie for fifth place, the top individuals for OU. Barber finished out the Sooners in the top 15, placing 13th and leading the field with 14 birdies. Mayo placed 42nd overall, shooting 7-over. Chaney rounded out the Oklahoma lineup, placing 60th of the 81 competitors.

THE COURSE
All three rounds will be played at The Preserve Golf Club (par 72, 6,345 yards).

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
OU has competed in the MountainView Collegiate eight times since its inception in 1999. Oklahoma won the team title in 2000, led by Allison Johnson taking home second place on the individual leaderboard. Two other Sooners have notched top-three finishes at the tournament, with Kendall Dye tying for second in 2007 and Heather Wright placing third in 2008. Last year, Oklahoma finished 10th out of the 15-team field with a 54-hole score of 876 (+12).

FORMAT
The three-day, 54-hole tournament opens on Sunday, March 2 and concludes on Tuesday, March 4. Each day will include 18 holes of play, with the first two rounds teeing off on either hole one or hole 10 between 9 a.m. CT and 11:20 a.m. CT. The final round on Tuesday will begin with a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. CT.
