Kasidi Pickering came up clutch with a walk-off three-run home run in an 8-5 game one win against Bowling Green (2-7) and
Cydney Sanders tallied three of her seven RBIs in game two to help No. 2 OU Softball (14-0) defeat Abilene Christian (3-11), 9-1, Monday, Feb. 24.
The Sooners swept the home-opening weekend tournament, with Pickering and Sanders tallying seven RBIs apiece. The Oklahoma pitching staff worked a 1.40 ERA, with
Sam Landry going 2-0 with 15 strikeouts in 7.2 innings.
The three-day attendance crowd at Love's Field was 12,347, with the Monday afternoon crowd being 3,771.
GAME 1 | OU 8, BGSU 5 (8 inn.)
Bowling Green took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, using a pair of RBI singles to help take the early lead.
Audrey Lowry settled in the next frame, fanning a pair before OU jumped ahead, 4-3, thanks to a two-out grand slam from
Cydney Sanders in the second.
The Falcons manufactured a run to tie things, 4-4, in the fourth. An infield single, fielder's choice and two-out check swing RBI single from Kendal Mathews tied it up.
BGSU regained the lead, going up 5-4 after consecutive doubles brought home another.
Abigale Dayton ignited OU in the sixth with an infield single to start the frame.
Ailana Agbayani singled her to third base and
Ella Parker plated Dayton with a sac fly to left, tying it up at 5-5.
After
Sam Landry spun a scoreless eighth, OU walked it off in the bottom half, scoring three with two away. With two retired, Parker chopped a single up the middle. Sanders reached on a fielding error, extending the inning for
Kasidi Pickering to hit a walk-off three-run home run to right center.

Abilene Christian scored one in the first, with leadoff hitter Taylor Bachmeyer reaching and eventually scoring on a Valerie Ornelas RBI single to left.
Both teams turned in a pair of zeros before OU broke it open with four two-out runs in the third. Five consecutive OU batters reached base during the two-out rally, beginning with a Parker walk.
Sanders leaned into a two-run home run to right field one batter later, giving OU the lead. After Pickering walked,
Nelly McEnroe-Marinas scalded an RBI double to the base of the wall in right center. OU used its speed to score another as Dayton flared an infield single just past second base, allowing McEnroe-Marinas to score after she broke on the pitch.
Sanders provided her seventh RBI of the day with an RBI single up the middle, making it 5-1 Sooners in the fourth.
McEnroe-Marinas split the left field alley to start the fifth with a double and scored on a
Maya Bland RBI single through the right side.
Isabela Emerling rolled a single up the middle and
Gabbie Garcia walked to load the bases. Agbayani scored Bland with a sac fly and Parker doubled to the wall in left to score Garcia and Emerling.
