10-0
Oklahoma is 10-0 through the first two weekends of the 2025 season. OU is perfect through 10 games for the fourth time in five seasons. The Sooners have won five games by run-rule fashion, while taking two in extra innings. The Sooners have homered 19 times, good for the seventh most in the NCAA. The OU staff has posted a 1.38 ERA and a 0.65 WHIP, with the latter being good for the best in the nation.

PERFECTION
Oklahoma has already posted two perfect games through ten contests. Isabella Smith fanned eight and didn't allow a baserunner against Cal Baptist Feb. 7, while Sam Landry spun another five-inning perfect game Feb. 16 against Baylor in an 8-0 win. Landry only needed 56 pitches, firing 42 strikes against the Bears in the win. Landry turned in just the second perfect game against a ranked team in program history, with the first being turned in by Jill Most against Baylor in March of 1997.

SYD THE KID
Freshman Sydney Barker has flexed her muscles through nine games and six starts. Last weekend she hit .500 with two home runs, including a grand slam. She hit a two-run home run off the foul pole and later provided a grand slam to help run-rule Baylor, 9-1, giving her six RBI in the game. Barker has totaled six hits this year, all of which have been extra-base hits. She has three home runs, two triples and a double, slugging 1.250.

YOU'RE SYDDING ME
OU homered three times in the 9-1 win against No. 24 Baylor last week. All three of those home runs came from either Sydney Barker or Cydney Sanders

HOME COOKING
OU is opening at home Feb. 22, which is the earliest the Sooners have played a home game since hosting St. Gregory's Feb. 16, 2011. •Oklahoma opened up Love's Field with a 9-7 win against Miami (Ohio) March 1 of last season. All told the Sooners are 24-4 at Love's Field and 45-8 in home openers. The last time OU opened up at home against a team from Texas was March 5, 2021 when the Sooners blanked Sam Houston State, 7-0.

SEC FIRSTS
Just two weeks into the season, OU has already tallied three Southeastern Conference weekly awards. Ella Parker was tabbed conference player of the week in consecutive weeks, while righty Sam Landry was named SEC Pitcher of the Week this past week. Parker and Landry go down as the first to ever earn the award for the Sooners. Parker is dominating opposing pitching this season. She leads the SEC with a .647 batting average and a league-high seven doubles. Landry has fanned 31 and only walked two in 20.1 innings.

HOMETOWN HOMER
Los Angeles, Calif., native Ella Parker homered in the return to her hometown, launching a solo shot to center field in OU's 9-0 win against Loyola Marymount last Saturday. That wasn't Parker's only big moment as she hit .591 and slugged .955 in OU's 6-0 swing in California. Parker was tied for the NCAA Division I lead in hits (13) and doubles (five) as of Monday, Feb. 10. That same day she was named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Co-Player of the Week, the first to earn the honor in OU history.

FLASH THE LEATHER
OU's defense was sharp to start the season as the Sooners committed only three errors in 273 chances with the glove, good for a .989 fielding percentage. Oklahoma turned six double plays, including two timely turns in the win against Long Beach State.

FIRST AT-BAT, FIRST HOME RUN
Junior outfielder Abigale Dayton homered in her first at-bat as a Sooner, doing so in the victory against Cal State Northridge in the season opener Feb. 6. The last time a Sooner homered in their first-career at-bat was when Kasidi Pickering launched a grand slam against Utah Valley last February. OU graduate assistant coach and four-time All-American, Tiare Jennings, also completed the feat, launching a two-run home run in her first-career at-bat against UTEP in 2021. Dayton came up clutch to cap the weekend, diving to make a catch and rob Long Beach State of a run, while also providing the game-winning RBI with a two-out double in the 11th inning.

PRESEASON SEC POLL AND OUTLOOK
Oklahoma was tabbed to finish third in its first-ever Preseason SEC Poll. The Sooners earned two votes for first place. Ella Parker, Kasidi Pickering and Abigale Dayton were all honored with Preseason All-SEC recognition. The Sooners were just one of three teams in the conference to have at least three honorees.

GASSO TO LEAD THE RED, WHITE & BLUE
Head Coach Patty Gasso was selected as USA Softball Women's National Team Head Coach as announced Monday, Feb. 3. Gasso is the seventh female to ever be in that position. Gasso will lead the U.S. Olympic Team through the 2025-28 quadrennial cycle, which includes the LA28 Olympic Games. She has been involved with the USA Softball Women's National Team since 2018, while having coached the U.S. Women's Elite Team during the World Cup of Softball.
