Landry’s Perfect Game Highlights Sunday's Run-Rule Wins

February 16, 2025 | Softball

No. 3 Sooners Defeat Hofstra and No. 23/24 Baylor

WACO, Texas — No. 3 Oklahoma Softball (10-0) completed a run-rule sweep of its weekend at the Getterman Classic after defeating Hofstra (0-4), 11-3, and No. 23/24 Baylor (6-4), 8-0, Sunday, Feb. 16. Audrey Lowry fanned eight in 3.2 innings in the opener, while Landry retired all 15 batters she faced in the nightcap against the Bears.

OU is 10-0 to start the season for the fourth time in five years. Through ten games the Sooners have outscored their opponents 86-15, launching 19 home runs. Ella Parker entered Sunday leading the Southeastern Conference in batting average, while currently posting a 1.118 slugging percentage.

OU 11, Hofstra 3 (5 inn.)
Hofstra took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, using a hit by pitch, Dahlia Palacio double and a successful squeeze play.

Tyler Douglas scored another with an RBI groundout. Hofstra's lead didn't last as the Sooners posted four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Dayton drew a walk and eventually came around on an RBI double from Parker. Cydney Sanders walked, Kasidi Pickering plated Parker with a squeeze bunt and Sydney Barker brought Sanders around with a sac fly following Nelly McEnroe-Marinas' own sac bunt. Ailana Agbayani started her hot-hitting day with an RBI single off the wall in center, scoring Pickering.

Hofstra's final run came when Alanna Morse homered to left center. From there the Sooners scored seven unanswered runs and Lowry spun 3.2 perfect innings.

Dayton reached on a bunt single to start the third, stole second and scored on an Ella Parker RBI double to right center. One more came across in the third after Barker started the inning with a triple. Agbayani scored her with an RBI groundout.

The Sooners put up another four spot in the fourth courtesy of four hits and a Hofstra error. Dayton started the rally again with a bunt single, Parker was intentionally walked and Sanders doubled in Dayton. A fielding error plated Parker before Pickering baited a throw from the Hofstra catcher to allow Sanders to score. Agbayani would do the same later in the fourth, bringing in McEnroe-Marinas.

Tia Milloy ended the game, homering to left center in the fifth. Hofstra's centerfielder made a play on the ball, but it bounced off her glove and over the fence.
