THE MORE YOU KNOW
BATTLES OF THE BEST
Since 2019, the Sooners have been a part of six No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchups, including Friday's meeting with No. 2 LSU. Ahead of Friday night, the Sooners are 4-1 in such matchups with the lone blemish coming in 2023 at No. 2 Michigan. Out of the six top two matchups, the Sooners have been the No. 1 team on five occasions. In 2022, OU was No. 2 in its victory over No. 1 Michigan. This is OU's first top two battle with LSU in a regular season dual meet. The team were also No. 1 and No. 2 when they met earlier this season at the Sprouts Collegiate Quad meet.
TOP 10 TAKEDOWN
In a top-10 battle against No. 8 Kentucky, the Sooners emerged victorious with a 197.825-197.225 victory last Friday night inside Lloyd Noble Center.
Faith Torrez won a trio of event titles with a 39.625 in the all-around, 9.975 on vault and 9.95 on floor.
Audrey Davis earned the event title on bars with a 9.95, and Kentucky's Isabella Magnelli won beam with a 9.95. Behind Torrez in the all-around was
Jordan Bowers with a 39.600. Rounding out the top three was
Addison Fatta, who earned a career-high 39.500 after her strongest meet of the season.
ROAD WARRIORS
In the last decade, the Sooners have shown they are a force to be reckoned with away from the friendly confines of Lloyd Noble Center. Since 2015, the Sooners boast a 231-13 record on the road. This includes a 60-5 record at true away competition sites and a 171-8 mark at neutral sites. Over the last three seasons, OU boasts an average road score of 198.010. In 2025, the Sooners are 7-0 in road meets.
EYES ON 900
The Sooners currently sit at 899 wins in program history and Friday's meet could be one for the record books if the Sooners bring home a victory. A win this week would give the Sooners 900 program victories. Since the first season in 1981, the program has a winning percentage of .733. Head coach K.J. Kindler has more than half of those wins with 521 to date.
SERIES HISTORY
OU and LSU have faced off 34 times in program history with the Sooners currently holding the 24-10 lead all-time. The Sooners have won 11-straight meetings between the two teams dating back to 2016. The two squads have already met once in 2025 with the Sooners coming out on top at the Sprouts Collegiate Quad on Jan.11.
ALL-AROUND EXCELLENCE
Over the last two seasons, the Sooners haven't shied away from putting up a plethora of all-around competitors. In 2025, five athletes have competed in the all-around:
Jordan Bowers,
Audrey Davis,
Addison Fatta,
Lily Pederson and
Faith Torrez. All five competed in the all-around for the first five weeks of the season while Davis did three events in week six.
Bowers, Davis and Torrez have all tied for the highest all-around score among SEC competitors with a 39.725 making OU the only school with multiple athletes to reach the 39.700-plus mark. The trio are all ranked in the top five in the nation with Torrez at No. 2, Bowers at No. 3 and Davis at No. 4. Pederson is also in the top 10, coming in at No. 8 with a season-high 39.575 in the all-around.
FRESHMEN IMPACT
The freshmen class has made an immediate impact to OU's lineups in 2025.
Addison Fatta,
Elle Mueller,
Lily Pederson and
Kelsey Slade have combined for 39.6 percent of competition routines thus far. This mark leads the SEC with the next closest being LSU at 27.1 percent and Auburn at 25.7 percent. Oklahoma is the only SEC school with two freshmen in the all-around, making up 33 percent of all routines.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
No. 2 LSU: The Tigers moved back up to No. 2 in the national rankings after a 197.300 victory at Alabama last week. LSU is 6-2 on the year and 3-1 in conference action with losses to the Sooners and Arkansas. The Tigers are one of two teams who have hit the 198 mark this season, along with Florida who the Sooners face next week. LSU is No. 1 on vault, No. 4 on bars and floor and No. 5 on beam. The team is led by Aleah Finnegan who sits at No. 14 in the all-around rankings with a 39.412 average and a high of 39.725. Freshman Kailin Chio has been a standout this season, coming in at No. 22 in the all-around with highs of 9.975 on vault and 9.95 on beam.
LOOKING AHEAD
After the trip to Baton Rouge, the Sooners will return to Norman for yet another top three battle as No. 3 Florida makes the trek to Lloyd Noble Center. The meet takes place on Friday, Feb. 21, at 7:45 p.m. CT and airs on ESPN2.
