NORMAN — No. 8 Oklahoma (12-1) opens SEC play on Thursday when it travels to College Station, Texas, to take on Texas A&M (7-2) at Reed Arena.
Tip is set for 7 p.m. CT on SECN+ with Steve Miller and Katy Lee calling the action. Fans can tune in on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (107.7 FM) with Brian Brinkley and Tyler Neal, or listen in Spanish with Enrique Vasquez on Los Sooners Radio (1560 AM). Both radio broadcasts will also stream on the Varsity App.
Oklahoma enters conference play riding an 11-game winning streak, the second-longest in program history, trailing only a 20-game run by the 2008-09 Final Four team. Over the stretch, the Sooners have been historic, scoring 100 points a program-record six times while averaging 100.7 points per game. OU is winning by an average of 41.0 points during the streak, shooting 20% better than its opponents with three Power Five wins and two over ranked foes. In OU's most recent game, the Sooners set a program record with 126 points in a 72-point win over NC Central in Norman.

Oklahoma set a program record for points in a single game in a 126-54 win over North Carolina Central on December 22 in its non-conference finale. The Sooners have won 11 straight games, the second-longest winning streak in program history, and secured OU's 16th unbeaten month all-time by going 5-0 in December for the second consecutive year. The 72-point win marked OU's second-largest margin of victory in Lloyd Noble Center history. Oklahoma's 12-1 record matches the best 13-game start in program history, tying seven other Sooner squads, including three under Baranczyk.
The Sooners scored a school record 40 points in the second quarter en route to a program-best 126 points, breaking the previous record of 122 set last season against Western Carolina. OU has now scored 100 points six times in 13 games, setting a program record for most 100-point games in a season, besting last year's team's record of five 100-point games. Eight different Sooners scored in double figures, led by Zya Vann, who notched her first career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, adding six steals.
THE FAST BREAK
• Oklahoma boasts one of the nation's most explosive offenses, ranking second nationally at 96.2 PPG and fifth in assists per game (21.5 APG). The Sooners' starting five also ranks second in the country in scoring at 73.2 PPG, trailing only No. 3 South Carolina. All five starters average double figures, led by Aaliyah Chavez (18.9 PPG) and Raegan Beers (17.8 PPG). OU ranks top-five nationally in fast break points (21.6), second-chance points (18.4) and paint points (47.8), while also sitting 16th in ORTG (117.4).
• Oklahoma's defense remains among the most disruptive in the nation, ranking second nationally in opponent field goal percentage at 30.9%. The Sooners hold teams 11.8% below their season shooting average and 11.8 points under their typical scoring output. OU ranks fifth nationally in blocks per game (6.9) and 21st in steals (12.8), while its 74.8 defensive rating sits 13th nationally. The Sooners have not allowed an opponent to shoot better than 42% this season. OU has won 36 straight when holding opponents under 70 points and have done so nine times during its winning streak.
• Oklahoma's 12-1 record matches the best 13-game start in program history, tying seven other Sooner squads, including three under Baranczyk. In its last outing, OU rewrote the record book by scoring a program-record 126 points in a Dec. 22 win over NC Central in Norman. The 126-54 victory marked the second-largest margin of victory (72 points) in Lloyd Noble Center history, as a program-record eight Sooners scored in double figures, including five who set or matched career highs. OU also set Baranczyk-era highs with 33 assists and 12 blocks in the win.
• OU moved up to No. 8 in last Monday's AP Top 25 poll (no polls this week) and checked in at No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches Poll on Tuesday, marking a run of seven straight weeks in the AP Top 10, the program's longest run since 2008-09. The Sooners have now appeared in the AP Top 25 for 36 consecutive weeks, the eighth-longest active streak nationally and the fourth-longest in program history, and their 28 straight weeks inside the AP top 20 is tied with North Carolina for the seventh-longest active run in the country. A new AP Poll is released an hour prior to tip on Monday (12/22).
• The Southeastern Conference is once again proving why it's the premier league in women's basketball. Half of the preseason AP top 10 featured SEC teams, including the then-sixth-ranked Sooners. In the latest AP poll, the SEC landed eight teams in the top 20. The league boasts a nation-high five undefeated teams, over half (9 of 16) boasting one or fewer losses.
Thursday marks the 50th all-time meeting between Oklahoma and Texas A&M, as the two programs previously battled for more than 15 years in the Big 12. The Sooners hold a 28-21 series lead and won last season's matchup, 77-62, in Norman.
Oklahoma is 7-11 all-time in College Station, with its last win there coming in 2006. The Sooners have dropped six straight games in College Station.
Oklahoma and Texas A&M will meet twice during the 2026 season as designated double opponents. Under the SEC's format, each team plays every conference opponent once and one team twice. The Aggies will visit Norman on Jan. 29.
The Sooners return to Norman to host Mississippi State on Jan. 4 at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Tip is set for 2 p.m. on SEC Network+. Last season, Mississippi State defeated OU 81-77 in Starkville and handed the Sooners their only loss to an unranked foe.
