NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Raegan Beers had 26 points and 15 rebounds as No. 9 Oklahoma cruised past Little Rock 103-48 on Thursday night.
Beers exceeded 1,000 career rebounds. The senior center is in her second season at Oklahoma after playing two years at Oregon State. She made 10 of 16 field goals and had five assists in 23 minutes against the Trojans.
Freshman Aaliyah Chavez had another strong game for Oklahoma. The team's leading scorer had 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting, her most efficient game yet.
Zya Vann added a career-high 19 points for the Sooners (10-1), who will revive their rivalry with No. 23 Oklahoma State on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
It was Oklahoma's ninth straight win, matching the Sooners' longest run under coach Jennie Baranczyk. The Sooners have scored at least 90 points in seven straight games and put up at least 100 points for the fourth time in five contests.
Jordan Holman and Mya Cotto each scored 11 points for Little Rock (3-6), which shot 24.6% from the field.
Chavez and Beers each scored 14 points in the first half as the Sooners roared out to a 61-23 lead. Oklahoma held Little Rock to 22.2% shooting from the field before the break.
Beers scored as time expired in the third quarter to put the Sooners up 90-36.
After a one-year hiatus in a series played annually since 1975, Bedlam returns following a 658-day gap between meetings on Saturday at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The Sooners will face No. 23 Oklahoma State (10-1) at 3 p.m. on ESPNU in the rivalry's first ranked matchup since 2016. OU is 69-47 all-time against the Cowgirls and a perfect 6-0 under Baranczyk..
POSTGAME NOTES
• No. 9 Oklahoma extended its winning streak to nine games on Thursday, tying the second-longest run in program history with three other Baranczyk-era streaks, with a 103-48 win over Little Rock at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
• During the winning streak, the Sooners have produced historic numbers, scoring 100 points five times, which ties last season for the most 100-point games in a single year. Over the last nine games, OU is averaging 98.9 points on 48.7% shooting while outscoring opponents by 39.7 points per game.
• OU has now opened 10-1 or better in three straight seasons and in four of five under head coach Jennie Baranczyk. The active nine-game winning streak trails only the program record 20-game run by the 2008-09 Final Four team. The Sooners have also won eight straight games in December, a streak that dates back to 2023.
• Oklahoma All-American senior Raegan Beers posted game highs with 26 points and 15 rebounds while tying her career high with five assists. She eclipsed 1,000 career rebounds in the win, becoming the fourth active Division I player to reach the milestone. Beers is the only player in the nation with 1,700 career points and 1,000 career rebounds and leads the country among active players with 53 career double-doubles.
• Freshman Aaliyah Chavez scored 20 points on 9 of 11 shooting, added three rebounds and three steals, and was perfect from inside the 3-point line. She leads all true freshmen in points per game at 19.2 and 20-point games with four.
• Zya Vann delivered a perfect 3 of 3 shooting performance from deep and finished with a career high 19 points on 7 of 8 shooting while adding four rebounds and two assists, blocks and steals.
• Caya Smith also recorded a career high with 13 points, matched her career best with five rebounds and collected four steals. The sophomore from Oklahoma City is the only player in the country averaging fewer than 16.0 minutes per game with at least 25 steals this season as she currently has 27 takeaways in 15.1 MPG.
• Oklahoma controlled the game from the opening tip in its fifth wire-to-wire win of the season, scoring a season-high 61 first-half points. OU held Little Rock to 24.6% shooting while the Sooner offense shot 54.7% from the floor, including 42.9% on 9 of 21 shooting from three. Defensively, OU holds teams to 11.6 points fewer than their scoring average this year and has won 71 straight games dating back to 2015 when limiting opponents to 60 points or fewer.
• Oklahoma, which leads the nation in rebounding, held a 53-33 advantage on the glass and has won 18 straight games when outrebounding its opponent.
