Wague's Career Night Lifts Sooners Past Oral Roberts

November 20, 2025 | Men's Basketball

NORMAN — Mohamed Wague scored a career-high 20 points and Nijel Pack netted 18 with the help of 4-for-5 3-point shooting to help the Oklahoma men's basketball team to a 95-71 win over Oral Roberts on Thursday night at Lloyd Noble Center.

The Sooners (3-2) registered a season-high 13 steals and posted a 25-2 advantage in points off turnovers. OU committed three turnovers, its fewest in five seasons, including just one in the second half that didn't come until 2:20 remained. ORU (2-4) finished with 18 turnovers.

Wague made 9 of his 12 field goal attempts, including four dunks, tallied a team-high seven rebounds and added a block and a steal. He became the third Sooner to hit 20 points this season, joining Xzayvier Brown (twice) and Pack.

Pack reached double figures for the fifth time in five games, making 6 of 10 shots overall and adding four boards, two assists and a steal. He is 15 for 24 (62.5%) from behind the arc over the last three games and is shooting 50.0% on the season.

The Sooners built a 42-24 halftime lead behind 10 points each from Wague and Pack and eight from sixth-year guard Jadon Jones, who made his OU debut after missing last season due to a back injury and the first four games this year due to a lower-body injury.

Jones, a Long Beach State transfer who played 13 minutes on the night, went 1 for 3 from the field (all from 3-point distance) and made all five of his free throw attempts. He also contributed a pair of assists, a rebound and a steal.

OU stretched its lead to 28 points (59-31) thanks to a 10-0 run from the 16:53 to 14:19 marks that was fueled by Pack and Jones 3-pointers.

Senior forward Tae Davis finished with 13 points, five rebounds and career-high-tying three steals, while Brown recorded nine points and a team-high four assists.

Sophomore forward Derrion Reid and redshirt senior guard Jeff Nwankwo registered seven points, four rebounds and three steals apiece. Sophomore guard Dayton Forsythe finished with six points and two assists.

The Sooners shot 50.7% from the field and held ORU to a 43.1% mark. This was their fourth game (third straight) with over 90 points.

OU is back at home Sunday when it hosts Alcorn State at 1 p.m.
