January 21, 2025 | Women's Gymnastics

NORMAN – After leading Oklahoma to its first SEC victory, fifth-year senior Audrey Davis and freshman Lily Pederson were named the SEC Gymnast and Freshman of the Week, respectively.

This is the first weekly honor this season for Davis and second for Pederson, who was named the co-freshman of the week on Jan. 14. In their first year in the league, the Sooners have claimed at least one weekly honor each of the first three weeks and are tied for the most in the conference with four total.

The duo was instrumental in helping the Sooners to a 197.775 victory over then-No. 10 Missouri Friday night to claim the program's first conference victory as members of the SEC. The pair posted the top two all-around scores in the conference over the weekend.

Davis had a career night against Mizzou, as she earned a career high in the all-around with a 39.725 – her first career all-around mark of 39.700 or higher. The score was the highest across SEC competition on the weekend and tied the highest all-around score in the SEC this season. Davis began the meet by setting her season high on vault with a 9.925, followed by a 9.95 on bars to claim the event title. She registered a season-best 9.925 on beam, before tying her career high on floor with another 9.925. Her leadoff score on floor helped the Sooners to a nation-leading 49.650 on the event.

Pederson also set a career high in the all-around with a 39.575, highlighted by her career-high 9.925 on vault after sticking her Yurchenko 1.5. She added a 9.85 on bars and a 9.9 on beam, her third-straight meet with at least a 9.9 on the event. On floor, she added another career high with a 9.9 to help the Sooners to a 49.650 on the event. Her 39.575 in the all-around was tied for the second highest score in the SEC over the weekend.

OU is headed to Alabama for its first road SEC meet of the season. The Crimson & Cream and Crimson Tide will face off on Friday, Jan. 24, at 6:45 p.m. CT in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The meet will air on SEC Network with John Roethlisberger and Sam Peszek on the call and Taylor Davis on the sidelines.
