Women's Golf in Eighth After Carmel Cup Opening Round

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Junior Isabelle Schlick recorded a 4-over 76 and Oklahoma women's golf ended the Carmel Cup first round in eighth (+27, 397). The Sooners are seven strokes back of Texas Tech (+30, 392) for seventh.
Schlick led the Sooners through the first 18 and will enter the second round tied for 22nd. The Bad Homburg, Germany product fired a 1-under 35 on the front nine, recording a birdie on the sixth. Schlick tallied her second and final birdie on the 18th.
Junior Savannah Barber concluded her round tied for 26th (5-over, 77), recording a trio of birdies. Barber knocked in back-to-back birdies on the 11th and 12th holes.
Sophomore Emily Hun recorded the third-best round by a Sooner, finishing 7-over 79 and tying for 31st.
Freshman Audrey Rischer and junior Makalya Tyrrell made their OU debut at the Carmel Cup, tying for 41st (10-over, 82) and 47th (12-over, 84), respectively. Senior Reagan Chaney rounded out the OU lineup in California, finishing 46th (11-over, 83).
