Carmichael Named Academic All-American

NORMAN — Sophomore Easton Carmichael has been named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators. CSC announced the 2024 Academic All-America baseball teams Tuesday.

Carmichael, from Prosper, Texas, is a sports business major and has carried a 3.57 GPA. He was selected to the CSC Academic All-America third team for the designated hitter position.

It marks the 14th time a member of the OU baseball program has collected Academic All-America honors and the first since 2011.

A National College Baseball Writers Association All-American, Carmichael earned third team honors at the DH position, slashing .366/.406/.563 in 2024. The All-Big 12 first team honoree helped lead the Sooners to a Big 12 regular season title, NCAA tournament appearance and 40-win season.

The rising junior started 60 of OU's 61 games and hit seven home runs, 19 doubles and five triples to go with a team-best 93 hits and 64 runs batted in.
