OU Rowing Concludes Opening Weekend

NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma rowing team concluded its opening weekend that featured regattas against Kansas, No.18 SMU and No. 4 Texas.

Friday vs. Kansas

OU scrimmaged with Kansas in formats including 2 x 1k meters and 4 x 500 meters at the Exchange Boathouse in Oklahoma City. The Sooners raced in the 1V8+, 2V8+, 1V4+, 2V4+ and 3V8+/N8+.

For the 1k races, OU's 1V8+ cleared KU's squad and the Sooners' 2V8+ gained on the Jayhawks' 1V8+ in all but one piece. The fours won all the 1k pieces and 3 of the 500 pieces.

Saturday at SMU & Texas

The Sooners competed against the No. 18 Mustangs in Dallas on Bachman Lake in a 2 x 1k meter format. OU won the majority of the races, including the 2V4+, 1V4+ and 1V8+.

Sunday at SMU & Texas

Oklahoma wrapped up its time in Dallas racing against SMU in 2 x 1k splits and swept the Mustangs in the weekend finale.

Oklahoma is back in action on March 30 when its hosts Wisconsin in Oklahoma City for a Big 12/Big Ten Dual at the OKC Boathouse District.
