NORMAN – Oklahoma women's golf fell to Oklahoma State 5.5-3.5 in the Bedlam Cup at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on Friday.
The two in-state schools opened the competition with three best-ball matches in the morning, splitting the contests. Sophomore
Isabelle Schlick and senior
Nina Lang won 1 up, beating OSU's Marta Silchenko and Sammie Miller. Sophomores
Savannah Barber and
Emily Hun finished all square and earned half a point. Oklahoma State's Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Angelica Pfefferkorn earned the 1-up victory, evening the tally at 1.5 points.
In the afternoon session, Hun claimed the first Oklahoma victory, beating Miller 6 & 5. She moved to 3-up through six before Miller claimed her lone hole of the match on the eighth. Hun won consecutive holes on the ninth and 10th, earning a four-hole advantage. She wrapped up her match with back-to-back victories on the 12th and 13th.
Junior Reagan Chancy claimed OU's second win shortly after, besting OSU's Ellie Bushnell 6 & 4. Similar to Hun, Chaney finished the front nine 3-up and started the back nine with consecutive wins. After she and Bushnell finished even on the 12th and 13th, Chaney concluded the match on the 16th.
The Cowgirls responded, winning two matches 3 & 2, and evening the team tally at 3.5 points. OSU's Thitaporn Saithip and Pfefferkorn each earned 1-up victories, wrapping up the event and securing the Bedlam victory.
