SENIOR SALUTE
Sunday's meet will serve as senior night for
Audrey Davis,
Soraya Hawthorne,
Bell Johnson,
Katherine LeVasseur,
Sheridan Ramsey,
Ragan Smith and
Meilin Sullivan. This incredible group has put together an illustrious career that includes 128 wins and an undefeated 35-0 home record.
Combined, the group has 12 All-America honors, five individual Big 12 championships and 14 All-Big 12 honors. They have won two NCAA National Championships, two Big 12 titles and three regional championships, along with an NCAA runner-up finish. Smith was honored by the Big 12 as the 2020 Newcomer of the Year while LeVasseur was the 2023 Event Specialist of the Year. Sullivan was honored with the 2023 NCAA Elite 90 Award.
STUNNING SIEGFELDT
After not appearing in an OU lineup for 413 days, sophomore
Ava Siegfeldt made her 2024 debut in record style. Siegfeldt was placed in the No. 2 spot in the beam lineup where she earned her first career perfect 10. The routine was just her fourth career collegiate routine after competing on beam three times in 2023. The sophomore had been the exhibition routine earlier in the year but had yet to break into the lineup. Siegfeldt became the third Sooner this season (
Jordan Bowers,
Ragan Smith) to earn a perfect score and the eighth NCAA gymnast to receive a 10.0 on beam. Siegfeldt also made her debut on vault, showing off her Yurchenko 1.5 for a career best 9.9.
HOME SWEET OKLA(HOME)A
Oklahoma is 143-4 inside Lloyd Noble Center since the arrival of head coach K.J. Kindler in 2007 and has posted 81 consecutive home victories across 53 meets dating back to 2014. The 2024 senior class is currently undefeated at home in their careers.
OU will compete at home five times during the regular season and will also host the Big 12 Championships. The Sooners are currently 6-0 inside the LNC with wins over BYU, Denver, TWU, Utah State and West Virginia.
THE BEAM QUEEN
Fifth-year senior
Ragan Smith earned back-to-back-to-back-to-back perfect scores on balance beam from Feb. 17 to March 3. The Lewisville, Texas, native is now in first place for most perfect scores on the event in program history with nine. Smith is also tied with Maggie Nichols for most perfect scores on any event in OU history as Nichols earned nine 10.0s on vault in her OU career (2017-20). Smith is the first gymnast in OU history to earn four-straight perfect marks on any event and is the only gymnast in the nation to do so in 2024.
10 POINT JO
Junior
Jordan Bowers became the first Sooner in 2024 to earn a perfect 10 with her outstanding bar routine at Arizona State on Feb. 2. Bowers perfect mark was the second of her career on bars and her fourth career perfect score. She is one of just three Sooners to ever earn more than one perfect score on bars, joining 2017 Bars National Champions Nicole Lehrmann and Maggie Nichols. She is also just the third gymnast to earn a perfect 10 on three events, joining Nichols and Anastasia Webb.
On March 10, Bowers earned her second perfect score of the season with her second career perfect score on floor. Bowers joins Nichols and Haley Scaman as the only Sooners with multiple perfect marks on floor.
AMAZING AUDREY
Senior
Audrey Davis has been an impeccable uneven bars worker in her time at OU. On Sunday, March 3, she was finally rewarded with her first career perfect 10. Currently the No. 1 ranked gymnast in the nation, Davis has shown exceptional consistency on bars. In 57 career routines, she has only scored below 9.90 twelve times, with nine of those being a 9.875, and has never scored below 9.80. Of her 45 scores over 9.9 she has tallied ten 9.9s, five 9.925s, sixteen 9.95s, one 9.9625 and twelve 9.975s.
Davis has also been one of the most consistent gymnastics to ever wear an OU leotard across all events. Davis has hit 190 of 191 career routines – a .994 percentage – over the last four years. Her lone fall came on balance beam in the 12th routine of her career. Since then, Davis has hit 179 routines in a row, dating all the way back to Feb. 7, 2021.
S-E-C YOU SOON
The 2024 season will be bittersweet as it marks the final year in the Big 12 for the Sooners who will move to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) beginning with the 2025 season. Kindler has been a member of both the Big 8 and Big 12 conferences, beginning her career as a gymnast and coach at Iowa State before coming to Oklahoma in 2007.
The Sooners will take on a new challenge in the SEC in 2025, which boasted all eight teams ranked in the top 20 of the preseason poll, with four in the top 10. Oklahoma has faced three SEC teams so far this season, defeating Arkansas, Kentucky and LSU.
Before departing the Big 12 Conference, the Sooners will host the 2024 Championships inside Lloyd Noble Center. OU has not hosted in Norman since winning the 2019 Big 12 crown.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Alabama: The No. 7 Crimson Tide is 12-3-1 on the season and 3-3-1 in the SEC. The Tide are coming off an impressive win in a quad meet against Minnesota, Illinois and Talladega College. Luisa Blanco, an AAI Award Finalist alongside
Audrey Davis, earned perfect scores on vault and floor to become the first Crimson Tide gymnast in 19 years to capture multiple 10s on the same night. The Tide are currently ranked No. 3 on bars, No. 7 on vault, No. 11 on beam and No. 14 on floor.
