February 09, 2024 | Soccer

NORMAN – Former University of Oklahoma forward Emma Hawkins has signed a professional contract with FHL, a soccer club in the Icelandic Lengjudeild league.

Hawkins spent the past two seasons at Oklahoma following three campaigns at Central Arkansas, earning a degree in multidisciplinary studies from OU this December. She led the Sooners with nine goals and added three assists to record 21 points in 2023 while putting 41 shots on target.

"I am extremely blessed to have the opportunity to live out my lifelong dream of playing professional soccer," said Hawkins. "I couldn't be more thankful to those who have supported me and helped me grow as a player to reach this point of my career. I am so excited to start this new journey."

Over her two-year career at OU, Hawkins scored 15 goals and provided four assists to account for 34 points in 38 games. She put 64 of her 127 shots on target, leading the Sooners in goals and SOT during her two seasons with the program.

"We're so happy for Emma," said OU head coach Matt Mott. "She's earned this opportunity with her hard work, dedication to her craft and commitment to getting better every day. FHL is getting a great player that the fans are going to love right away."
