Red/White Intrasquad Set for Saturday

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's gymnastics team will hold its annual Red/White Intrasquad scrimmage at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center. Fans are encouraged to attend and get a sneak preview of the 2025 squad. Admission is free and doors open at 12:30 p.m.

The Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center is located at 325 Imhoff Rd. Parking is available in the Lloyd Noble Center lot across Imhoff Rd. Fans should enter the north door on the east side of the Viersen Center, accessible via the parking lot between Viersen and Love's Field, either by walking down the wooden steps or by taking the sidewalk around the grassy incline. Shoe covers will be provided, or fans may remove their shoes and place them in the available cubbies inside the entrance door.

Oklahoma returns 17 gymnasts from last season, including redshirt senior Zach Nunez, seniors Matthew Burgoyne, Emre Dodanli, Brigham Frentheway, Nikolai Kolesnikov and Cailen Walker, redshirt junior Fuzzy Benas, juniors Kelton Christiansen and Ignacio Yockers, redshirt sophomores Leo Koike and Mac Seyler, sophomores Max Bereznev, Colin Flores, Tyler Flores, Tas Hajdu and Nico Hamilton and redshirt freshman Arthur Ballon. OU also welcomed freshmen Brandan Zepeda-Orth (redshirt freshman), Rio Costa, Nick Cruz, Alex Deubler and Francisco Velez Belendez to the squad for 2025.

Dodanli competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics with Turkey and was the 2024 CGA Specialist of the Year, a five-time 2024 All-American and the MPSF floor exercise champion. Benas was the 2024 CGA Gymnast of the Year and five-time 2024 All-American and Yockers was the MPSF Specialist of the Year, a 2024 All-American and MPSF pommel horse champion. Christiansen was the MPSF high bar champion and a 2024 All-American, while Nunez, Bereznev, Hamilton and Hajdu were All-Americans in 2024.

The Sooners open the 2025 season against Air Force at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 at McCasland Field House. OU also welcomes Illinois (Jan. 25), Stanford/Greenville (Feb. 8) and Michigan/Simpson (Feb. 15) to the Field House. Oklahoma's meets against Stanford and Michigan will feature multiple Olympians, including Dodanli and members of Team USA's bronze medal squad at the Paris Olympics.

Season tickets for the 2025 Oklahoma men's gymnastics season are on sale. Fans can purchase new season tickets through SoonerSports.com or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at 405-325-2424.

New season tickets are available for $25 for general admission and $15 for youth (ages 6-18) and seniors (55+). Group packages are available for groups of 10 or more at a discounted price by contacting the ticket office. OU faculty and staff, and letterwinners, can also purchase season tickets for $15.
