THE STARTING FIVE
- Oklahoma's six wins of 30+ points through nine games of the 2024-25 season are the most in program history. The Sooners' average margin of victory of +31.7 would nearly double the current school record of +17.0 set in 1984-85. Oklahoma has posted two wins of 60+ (Western Carolina, Alabama State) for the first time in OU history in a single season.
- Oklahoma's home winning streak stands at 13 games, the 12th-longest active streak in the nation and the longest of the Baranczyk era. The Sooners' last loss in Norman came on Dec. 22, 2023. The streak is the program's longest since a 15-game run from Feb. 19, 2014, to Feb. 25, 2015, and ranks as the third-longest in the past 15 years of Oklahoma basketball.
- Oklahoma has been one of the most well-rounded teams in the nation and is one of two teams (K-State) to rank in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense (92.4 PPG, 4th), rebounding margin (+17.9, 1st), FG% (50.8%, 4th) and FG% defense (32.8%, 8th). Four of the last five NCAA champions ranked in the top 15 of each category at the end of their title run.
- Oklahoma's 92.4 points per game in 2024-25 rank fourth nationally and the Sooners' FG% of 50.8% is 4th highest in Division I. Additionally, OU's 24.1 assists per game rank first in the country.
- The Sooners rank eighth nationally in opponent field goal percentage (32.8%). Oklahoma has held seven of its nine opponents under the team's average PPG and shooting percentages. On average, OU's opponents shoot 6.6% worse against the Sooners than they do against other opponents.
LAST TIME OUT
Skylar Vann scored a season-high 20 points and No. 11 Oklahoma ran its home-court win streak to 13 straight by
steamrolling past Alabama State 110-46 on Sunday. The Sooners played a home game for the first time in nearly a month and they took the lead for good less than 90 seconds into the contest after Vann and
Payton Verhulst hit back-to-back 3-pointers. The last time Oklahoma lost a home game was December 22, 2023.
SERIES HISTORY
Out of all of Oklahoma's opponents this year, the Sooners and Golden Eagles have met more than all but three as Sunday's meeting is the 39th between the in-state foes. The Sooners own a 23-15 advantage in the series which began in 1976. The teams met at least once annually between 1976-88, meeting as many as four times in a calendar year twice.
Oklahoma is 12-6 in Norman vs. ORU, and the Sooners have won both contests under Baranczyk, scoring over 100 points each time.
UP NEXT
The Sooners travel to Charlotte, N.C. for the third annual Jumpman Invitational where they'll take on No. 20 Michigan on Dec. 17 at 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
