OU's 2025 SEC Football Schedule Announced

NORMAN — The Southeastern Conference announced its 2025 football schedule Wednesday evening, completing Oklahoma's 12-game 2025 regular season football slate.
The Sooners will play seven games at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium next fall — three non-conference contests and four against SEC opponents — as well as four true road games and the annual Red River Rivalry clash against Texas at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. OU's eight SEC opponents will be the same as this season, with home and away assignments flipped from 2024. Six of OU's eight 2024 league foes are in the top 19 of the final CFP ranking.
OU's four non-conference games will be Aug. 30 vs. Illinois State, Sept. 6 vs. Michigan, Sept. 13 at Temple and Oct. 4 vs. Kent State.
For the second straight year, Oklahoma will open SEC play at home, this time welcoming Auburn for its maiden visit to Norman on Sept. 20. The Sooners picked up their first-ever SEC win, 27-21, on Sept. 28 this season in Auburn, Ala.
Following a Sept. 27 open date and the contest against Kent State, OU will travel to Dallas to meet Texas on Oct. 11 at the State Fair of Texas. OU, which will be the designated visiting team in the matchup, has won 11 of its last 16 meetings against the Longhorns and is 30-22-3 in the series since 1970.
Oklahoma will alternate road and home games the next three weeks, starting with an Oct. 18 outing at South Carolina that will mark the Sooners' first trek to Columbia. OU returns home to host Ole Miss on Oct. 25 before playing at Tennessee on Nov. 1. The Sooners' last trip to Knoxville in 2015 produced one of the great endings in OU history, as Bob Stoops' squad prevailed 31-24 in double-overtime.
Nov. 8 will serve as the team's second bye week of the season. Then OU will play at Alabama on Nov. 15. The Sooners, who beat the then-No. 7 Crimson Tide 24-3 this season in Norman, are 4-2-1 all-time against Alabama and won the only meeting in Tuscaloosa, 20-13, in 2003.
OU's last two games will be at home against Missouri on Nov. 22 and LSU on Nov. 29. The Sooners are 67-25-5 all-time against Missouri and have won their last 18 home games in the series (last loss was in 1966). LSU's visit to Norman will mark its first ever.
Each SEC team will play eight conference football games plus at least one required opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or major independent, and each team will have two open dates.
The top two teams in the league standings based on winning percentage will play in the 34th SEC Football Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 6.
