Mansfield Signs Trio for 2025

NORMAN – Oklahoma head volleyball coach Aaron Mansfield announced the addition of three-student athletes on National Signing Day. Joining the Sooners for the 2025 season will be Tekoa Barnes, Alyssa Flack and Avaya Maga.
"We are extremely excited to get our first full recruiting class as a staff here at OU," Mansfield said. "We added three players with very high skill sets, tremendous work ethic and personalities that fit the culture that we continue to build here at OU. All three of these players have gained valuable experience in the USA and Canadian National Team developmental programs. We can't wait to get them here on campus."

Barnes comes to Oklahoma from Boynton Beach, Fla., where she attends Boca Raton Christian School. With her high school, she is a two-time state championship runner-up, a three-time regional champion and five-time district champion. She has amassed over 2,000 kills in her career and as a junior was ranked No. 7 among all Florida high schools with 500 kills.
Barnes is the daughter of Richard and Cathy Barns and has three siblings: Judah, Austen and Ethan. Her mom, Cathy, played volleyball at Fisk University and her brother Ethan plays basketball at Atlantis University. With her club team, Tribe Volleyball, she was a three-time AAU All-American, a 2023 JO All-American and 2024 All-American MVP.
Barnes on joining Oklahoma: "I choose OU because it felt like home and a place, I can be the best version of myself," Barnes said. "I'm looking forward to making new memories and contributing to our success."
OU head coach Aaron Mansfield on Barnes: "Tee is an explosive jumper, with an extremely fast arm and a very high volleyball IQ. Her athleticism and drive to be great will help our gym right away and give her a great chance to have an immediate impact in the SEC."

Flack comes to OU from Streetsville, Ontario, where she attends St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School. She plays for Parkman Volleyball Club where she has earned multiple All-Star recognitions and most recently she played for the U19 Canadian National Team where she competed at the 2024 NORCECCA.
Flack is the daughter of Debbie & Kelly Flack and has two siblings: Tyler and Riley. Her dad played basketball at Sheridan College and her brother, Tyler, played hockey at SUNY Oswego. She is a three-year member on the Honor Roll at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School.
Flack on joining Oklahoma: "I chose OU because the coaches were incredibly supportive and kind which really matched the way I like to be coached. I know they'll push me to grow into the player I want to become. The team also made me feel so welcome and right at home. Everyone was so kind and open. Plus, the town itself is beautiful, which made the decision that much easier. It just felt like the perfect fit for me."

Maga comes to Oklahoma from Hamilton, Ontario, where she attends Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School. She has been a two-time district and regional champion and was the 2023 provincial champion and 2024 provincial finalist. She also excelled academically as a four-time honor roll honoree and recipient of the 2023 Directors Award of Excellence for highest academic achievement.
Maga is the daughter of Steve and Alvisia Maga and has one sibling, Linaea. Her mother played volleyball at McMaster University and her father played baskeball at Simon Fraser University and McMaster. With her club team, Halton Hurricanes, she was the 2023 17U National Championship and MVP and repeated in 2024 as a national champion and MVP.
Maga on joining Oklahoma: "I chose to attend OU because of the great tradition of athletics and the amazing coaches, staff and girls on the team," Maga said. "I am looking forward to getting on campus, learning and competing in the gym, taking advantage of the amazing resources OU has to offer and playing in the SEC."
