NORMAN — Due to inclement weather, the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department has announced that Saturday's OU-Maine football game will now start at 11 a.m. CT.
The move from a 1:30 p.m. to an 11 a.m. kickoff was made due to models demonstrating a greater threat of severe weather beginning earlier in the afternoon, which would complicate the ability to complete the game.
"With Saturday's forecast calling for afternoon storms, we made the decision to move the game up for the safety of fans and participants," said OU Vice President and Athletics Director Joe Castiglione. "While it's difficult to know if we'll experience any game delays due to potential inclement weather, this move increases our chances of avoiding such stoppages. In addition, the earlier start will ideally allow our fans to enjoy the game and travel home safely before the storms intensify."
Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium gates will open at 9 a.m. OU's Allstate Party at the Palace pregame festivities will run from 7 to 10:30 a.m. on the north side of the stadium. The football team's Walk of Champions will start at approximately 8:45 a.m. at the corner of Jenkins Ave. and Brooks St., just northeast of the stadium.
Saturday's game will be streamed on ESPN+ and SEC Network+.
