Sooners T5th, Chaney T13th After 36 Holes at Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN – Junior Reagan Chaney fired a 4-under 66 and Oklahoma women's golf tied for fourth (2-over, 562) after the Schooner Fall Classic second round at Belmar Golf Club on Sunday.
After she carded a 2-over 72 on Saturday, Chaney recorded four birdies and no bogeys and is tied for 13th (2-under, 138) after the first 36 holes. The Ardmore, Okla., product opened her day with a birdie on the third hole and tallied another on the sixth. She finished the front nine with a birdie on the ninth, recording a 3-under 33. Chaney tallied her fourth birdie on the 12th and rattled off six pars to conclude her round.
Sophomore Isabelle Schlick joined Chaney under par, finishing 1-under 69. Schlick opened the round with a bogey on the second and fifth holes. The Bad Homburg, Germany, product recorded her first birdie on the eighth hole and finished the front nine 1-over 37. Schlick found her rhythm to open the back nine, tallying three consecutive birdies. After three pars, she suffered a one-stroke setback on the 16th and recorded a pair of pars to finish her round. Schlick enters the final round tied for 27th (2-over, 142).
Sophomore Savannah Barber and freshman Holly McLean finished 1-over 71 and 2-over 72, respectively.
Barber recorded the first birdie of the day by a Sooner on the second hole. She dropped a pair of strokes on the third hole and another stroke on the sixth, finishing the first nine 2-over 38. Barber recorded her second birdie on the 12th and concluded her round with six pars. She enters the final round tied for 22nd (1-over, 141).
McLean started her day with four consecutive pars. She dropped two strokes on the fifth and sixth holes and drained her lone birdie of the day on the eighth. McLean finished the front nine 1-over 37 and opened the back nine with seven pars. She recorded a bogey on the 17th and concluded her round 2-over 72. McLean is tied for 27th (2-over, 142) with Barber.
Senior Nina Lang rounded out the OU lineup, finishing the second round 7-over 77. She tallied a trio of birdies, including consecutive birdies on the 13th and 14th holes. Lang enters the final round tied for 65th (9-over, 149).
Sophomore Gracie Mayo and senior Kaylee Vesely are competing as individuals.
Mayo started her day on the back nine and finished even through her first nine holes. Mayo recorded a birdie on the first hole and moved to even after a bogey on the sixth. The Newport, Wales product tallied a birdie on the ninth, finishing 1-under 69. Mayo is even through two rounds and enters the final round tied for 20th (even par, 140).
Vesely finished 6-over 76, recording her lone birdie on the 14th hole. She is tied for 82nd (15-over, 155).
