Oklahoma Reveals Complete 2023 Volleyball Schedule

NORMAN – University of Oklahoma head volleyball coach Aaron Mansfield announced the 2023 non-conference slate on Wednesday, featuring two home matches against UCLA. The Big 12 previously announced the conference schedule in May.

OU travels to Wichita State for an exhibition match on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. CT, before officially opening the season at the Ball State Tournament, Aug. 25-26, in Muncie, Ind. The two-day tournament includes a doubleheader on Friday, Aug. 25 against Gonzaga and Purdue Fort Wayne at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT, respectively. The Sooners will face host Ball State for the second consecutive season on Saturday, Aug. 26 at noon CT.

OU continues its road trek to start the season, traveling to Corvallis, Ore., for the Asics Invitational. The Sooners will face-off against host Oregon State on Friday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. CT and conclude the tournament against Boise State on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. CT.

Following its trip to Oregon, OU will travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Irish Invitational, opening the tournament against Illinois on Friday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. CT and playing host Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. CT. The Sooners will face the Illini for the first time since Dec. 10, 1988 and the Fighting Irish for the first time since Sept. 10, 2005.

OU returns home for a pair of matches against UCLA on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16. at 5 p.m. and 2 p.m. CT, respectively. The Sooners conclude their non-conference slate against Tulsa on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. CT.

OU opens Big 12 play at home against Texas on Friday, Sept. 22 and Sat., Sept. 23, at 6 p.m. CT both nights. The Sooners are slated to face six Big 12 teams twice (Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas and UCF) in two-match series on consecutive days and the remaining six teams once (Baylor, BYU, Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia).
