Soccer Announces Fall 2023 Schedule

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma head soccer coach Matt Mott announced the team's 2023 fall schedule Monday.

The Sooners will play 18 regular-season contests, highlighted by nine home matches.

OU opens the fall with a home exhibition vs. Baylor on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. CT at John Crain Field in Norman. The Sooners play a second exhibition contest in Lincoln, Neb., vs. Nebraska at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11.

The regular season slate begins with a trio of non conference matches Aug. 17, 20 and 24 vs. Tulsa, Oral Roberts and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, respectively, with all matches set for 7 p.m. starts.

The Sooners go on a three-game road swing beginning Sunday, Aug. 27 in Birmingham, Ala., vs. Samford at 1 p.m. before a pair of matches in Spokane, Wash., vs. host Gonzaga (Aug. 31, 7 p.m.) and a neutral site game vs. Montana in Spokane on Sept. 3 at 11 a.m.

OU returns to Norman for the home non-conference finale vs. Murray State on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. before opening Big 12 conference play at John Crain Field vs. Kansas on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.

Non-conference competition concludes Sunday, Sept. 17 vs. Omaha in Omaha, Neb., at 1 p.m. before Oklahoma welcomes Kansas State to Norman on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.

OU plays its first new conference foe on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. as the team plays at Houston. The Lone Star State swing continues Thursday, Sept. 28 vs. Texas Tech in Lubbock at 7 p.m.

The Sooners return to John Crain Field Sunday, Oct. 1 to face off against another new Big 12 member in UCF at 1 p.m.

Oklahoma heads east for its final regular season games outside the Sooner State on Oct. 5 and 8 at West Virginia and Cincinnati with respective start times of 7 p.m. and 1 p.m.

The Red River Rivalry vs. defending Big 12 regular season champion Texas in Norman will be Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. The home finale follows against BYU on Monday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

The regular season concludes with Bedlam in Stillwater on Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. vs. Oklahoma State.

The Big 12 Soccer Championship is set for Oct. 28-Nov. 4 in Round Rock, Texas, and the NCAA Tournament's first round is scheduled for the following week at campus sites.

The Sooners' schedule features six teams that made the 2022 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.

Season- and single-game tickets for the 2023 season will go on sale at a later date this summer.

Under the guidance of first-year coach Mott, the 2023 team looks to build off a 9-8-3 season in 2022 that saw the Sooners win their first postseason match in six years with a Big 12 Championship quarterfinal victory over Texas Tech.
