Sooners Add Arthur Ballon to 2023 Signing Class

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics head coach Mark Williams announced Wednesday the signing of French National Team member Arthur Ballon to a National Letter of Intent for the 2024 season.
Ballon joins Max Bereznev, Colin and Tyler Flores, Nico Hamilton and Tas Hajdu as part of the Sooners' 2023 signing class.
A product of Lyon, France, Ballon has been a member of the French National Team since 2020, and is a member of the French Senior National Team this year. He is a three-time national champion, having won events at multiple levels in 2013, '16 and '17. As a member of the French Junior National Team, he competed at the 2019 Junior World Championships in Hungary.
"We are excited to welcome Arthur to the Sooner family," Williams said. "His international experience and skill level will make him an instant asset to our 2024 team, and I'm very excited about the potential of this strong incoming freshman class."
Ballon, who represents INSEP, the National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance, in Paris, and previously spent a year at Hector Berlioz High School in Vincennes, France, also competed at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival (FOJE).
Oklahoma completed the 2023 season with its 23rd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships Finals, an MPSF runner-up finish, four individual All-Americans, five MPSF All-Academic Team honors and two CSC Academic All-District selections.
