Love's Field Seat Selection Process Coming in June
May 16, 2023 | Softball
NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department announced Wednesday information on the seat-selection process for Love's Field, OU's new softball stadium that is scheduled to open in spring 2024.
Starting the week of June 12, three priority groups will have the first opportunity to view and select seats via an interactive online Love's Field map, mirroring the platform used for the home-seat upgrade process for football and men's basketball. All three priority groups will be assigned a time in which they can view available inventory and make selections. The assigned selection time and instructions will be provided via email from updates@go.soonersports.com to the address on the OU Athletics account prior to the start of the selection process.
Supporters in each group will be ranked via Sooner Points associated with their OU Athletics account. Sooner Points accumulate for OU Athletics lifetime season ticket purchases, seat-related giving history and attendance.
Annual Per-Seat Donations & Ticket Costs |
Love's Field season ticket holders will be required to pay a per-seat donation and the cost of season tickets on an annual basis that is dependent on the seating location. Seat locations for future seasons will remain the same as long as the required annual per-seat donation and season ticket payments are made by the deadline each year.
Overall, approximately 40% of the seats at Love's Field will have a lower all-in cost per seat compared to season ticket costs for the 2023 season. Similar to football and men's and women's basketball, per-seat donation totals will count toward each supporter's annual Sooner Club membership level and overall ranking for all OU Athletics membership benefits beginning this year.
Seat Selection Process |
After selection times are sent via email, supporters from each group can familiarize themselves with the interactive online seat map prior to their assigned selection time by logging in to their OU Athletics account. Once the assigned time has arrived, supporters may select their preferred seats from available inventory with the seat quantity aligning with their group number. After a selection is made, supporters will proceed to checkout, at which time they will be required to make a payment for the annual per-seat donation. Three-month-payment-plan or payment-in-full options will be available. Season ticket payments will be due in early September with more information to be provided in the coming weeks via email.
Selecting seats via the online process is necessary for supporters to lock in their location for the 2024 season at Love's Field. The interactive seat map should be accessed from a desktop or laptop computer. Mobile phones and tablets are not compatible with the seat map and cannot be utilized to make seat selections.
Supporters in all three groups have received via email (sent to the address on their OU Athletics account) a Love's Field seat selection guide with additional information.

About Love's Field |
To date, over $32 million of the $47.9 million total project cost has been raised from more than 1,000 donors, including the $12 million lead and naming gift from Love's Travel Stops. In addition to the total dollars raised, seat-related contributions have been earmarked to bridge the funding gap to make this project a reality.
Love's Field, which will be located approximately one-half mile south of existing Marita Hynes Field, will accommodate seating for 3,000 and is designed to allow for expansion. Including temporary seating that is added each season, Marita Hynes Field has a seating capacity of just over 1,700.
The new facility will feature a 10,500-square-foot indoor training center and several team spaces, including a training room, locker room and classroom. It will also have space for a recognition area to showcase national championships, All-Americans and other outstanding accomplishments.
Current plans call for the overall square footage of the complex to reach 44,000, compared to 15,150 at the present facility. The team areas will expand from 2,949 square feet to 5,375 square feet and the indoor practice facility will jump from 4,700 square feet to 10,531 square feet.
