Sooners Dominate In Bedlam Victory

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma men's tennis team dominated and claimed the Bedlam victory in Stillwater, Okla., 6-1 on Friday night.

The Sooners came out strong in doubles, securing the doubles point after wins at the top two courts. Baptiste Anselmo and Nathan Han claimed the 6-1 win over No. 65 Chase Ferguson and Tyler Zink at the top spot. To clinch the opening point, Alex Martinez and Justin Schlageter grabbed the 6-2 victory on court against Alessio Basile and Carl Roothman.

When play was halted, Jordan Hasson and Siphos Montsi were down 3-5 to Alex Garcia and Isaac Becroft on court three.

Singles opened with a court-six win from Luis Alvarez over Roothman 6-1, 6-3. OSU's No. 86 Becroft answered with a win over Hasson at the No. 2 spot, taking the match 6-4, 6-4. Montsi added another point for OU with a 6-1, 7-6 (4) win on court three against Alex Garcia.

To clinch the Bedlam victory, Han came back from a set-one deficit to claim court five 7-5, 7-6 (4) over Alessio Basile.

The match played out and No. 77 Martinez claimed the ranked win at the top court with a 7-6 (11), 5-7, 1-0 [10-3] win against No. 89 Zink. Closing out the match, Schlageter battled back to take court four over Ferguson, 7-6 (2), 2-6, 7-6 (4).

UP NEXT

The Sooners will close out the regular season at home and host Baylor and Texas Tech on Friday, April 14 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 16 at 1 p.m., respectively.
