DALLAS – Oklahoma women's golf concluded the second day of the Big 12 Championship on Saturday at Dallas Athletic Club and remained in fourth (6-over, 582).
Mikhaela Fortuna,
Savannah Barber and
Reagan Chaney are in the top 20 after their strong performances through the first 36 holes. Fortuna is tied for fourth (3-under 141) and Barber is tied for 14th (2-over, 146). Chaney rounds out the trio and is tied for 20th (2-over 146).
Fortuna, who was one of three players in the field to finish under par on Friday, fired a 2-under 70 on Saturday. She finished the front nine with a team-best 3-under 33, recording birdies on first, third and seventh holes. Fortuna tallied a two-stroke setback on the 16th, but rebounded with a birdie on the 18th.
Kaylee Vesely matched Fortuna with a 2-under 70. Vesely is tied for 27th (5-over 147). The Austin, Texas, product recorded a trio of birdies on her first nine holes and finished 2-under 34. Vesely moved back to 1-under after a pair of bogeys on the 13th and 14th holes. She ended her round with a birdie on the 18th.
Barber and Chaney each notched 1-over 73 rounds.
Barber dropped a stroke on the second hole and tallied three birdies on her final five holes of the front nine, finishing 2-under 34.
Chaney tallied a 2-over 38 on the first nine and recorded her second birdie on the 10th. The Ardmore, Okla., product recorded an eagle on the 13th. She dropped a pair of strokes on the 14th and 16th holes.
Emily Hun recorded a 5-over 77 and is tied for 37th (11-over, 155).
