Sooners Host No. 21 Texas Tech for Weekend Series

First Pitch

• Oklahoma (18-16, 3-6 Big 12) plays host to No. 21 Texas Tech (23-11, 4-5 Big 12) for a three-game Big 12 conference series this weekend at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Game times are set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
• This will be the first meeting between the Red Raiders and Sooners this season and the second conference home series for Oklahoma. Oklahoma earned a 2-1 series victory over then-No. 11 TCU March 17-19. 
• The games will be televised via SoonerVision on ESPN+, with Chad McKee and George Frazier on the call on Friday, and Toby Rowland and Frazier on the call for Saturday and Sunday. 

Tickets/Promotions

• Tickets are available via SoonerSports.com. Fans can purchase a ticket for the four-game series for only $35. Mini plans and flex packages are available for all remaining home games. 
• The L. Dale Mitchell Park ticket office and entrance gates will open two hours prior to the scheduled game time. The ticket office and will call windows are located behind home plate, along W. Imhoff Rd.
• On Friday, fans can take advantage of $2 concession pricing on 12 oz. beers and a postgame fireworks display.
• Saturday is Bark in the Park. Fans with their dogs must sign a liability waiver upon arrival at the entrance gate.
• Every Sunday OU home contest is Sunday Runday. Kids 12 and under can run the bases on the field following the game.

• The games will be televised via SoonerVision on ESPN+, with Chad McKee and George Frazier on the call on Friday, and Toby Rowland and Frazier on the call for Saturday and Sunday. 
• The radio broadcast will be carried on the Sooner Radio Network (locally on Sportstalk 99.3 FM/1400 AM KREF, Sportstalk1400.com and the Varsity Network app anywhere). Rowland will have the radio call for all three games and will be joined by Frazier in a TV simulcast on Saturday and Sunday.

Leading Off

• Oklahoma is in its sixth season under the direction of head coach Skip Johnson (including the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson, who spent the 2017 season on staff as an assistant coach, has led the Sooners to a 175-120 record, two NCAA Tournament appearances, the 2022 Big 12 tournament championship and the 2022 College World Series finals since taking over as head coach prior to the 2018 season.
• Oklahoma ranks eighth nationally and third in the Big 12 with its 205 walks, and ranks 16th nationally and fourth in the Big 12 with its 74 stolen bases. OU batters have also been hit by a pitch 42 times, totaling 247 free passes (an average of 7.2 free passes per game).
• The Sooners also rank third nationally with their 26 sacrifice flies (second in the Big 12 to nation-leading 31 by Texas Tech) and 19th nationally with 12 triples (second in Big 12; league leader Texas Tech has 14 triples).
• Junior right fielder Bryce Madron has registered a nation-leading 42 walks in the season's first 34 games. He also ranks third nationally and first in the Big 12 by averaging 1.2 walks per contest. Freshman catcher Easton Carmichael is tied for the Big 12 lead, tied for 15th nationally and ranks second among catchers with his four triples. Junior infielder Anthony Mackenzie ranks 22nd nationally and second in the Big 12 with his 19 stolen bases (in 22 attempts). Junior Carter Campbell is fifth nationally and first in the Big 12 with his 19 pitching appearances (national leaders have made 23 appearances). Graduate senior Braxton Douthit ranks third in the country and leads the Big 12 by allowing 4.6 hits per nine innings.
• Carmichael leads the team with 12 multiple-hit games, Mackenzie and junior infielder Dakota Harris each have 11 multiple-hit games and freshman Rocco Garza-Gongora and Madron have 10. Carmichael leads the team with 10 multiple-RBI games while Harris has eight.
• The Sooners have registered 74 stolen bases in 96 attempts (77%) through the first 34 games of the season, which is slightly ahead of the pace set through 33 games of the 2022 season (70 for 91). Last year, OU registered 145 steals, the most by an Oklahoma club since 1989 (168 steals).
• Anthony Mackenzie leads the Sooners and ranks 22nd nationally with his 19 steals (in 22 attempts). John Spikerman is second on the team with 13 steals (13 for 15) and Kendall Pettis and Bryce Madron have each swiped 10 bases. Twelve players have stolen at least one base this season and six players have notched at leas four stolen bases.
• Mackenzie has stolen three bases in a game twice this season (vs. Abilene Christian on Feb. 22 and vs. Rider on Feb. 25). On 11 occasions, an OU player has stolen at least two bases in a game. Oklahoma registered a season-high eight steals against Rider on Feb. 25 and has stolen at least three bases seven times this season.

• Oklahoma leads the overall series against Texas Tech 53-45-1, and holds a 27-17-1 advantage in Norman.
• The Sooners won four of five meetings last season, defeating the Red Raiders in a midweek contest in Amarillo, two of three times in Lubbock and in the Big 12 tournament in Arlington, Texas.
