First Pitch
• Oklahoma (17-16) returns home to L. Dale Mitchell Park for four games this week, beginning with a Tuesday contest against Wichita State (18-13) at 6:30 p.m.
• This will be the third meeting between the Sooners and Shockers this season, but the first in Norman. WSU won the first two games, 6-2 on March 14 and 8-7 on March 28 in Wichita, Kan.
• Oklahoma is celebrating its 125th anniversary season in 2023. The program was established in 1898, and OU has competed in 118 seasons since (including 2023).
Tickets/Promotions
• Tickets are available via SoonerSports.com. Fans can purchase a ticket for the four-game series for only $35. Mini plans and flex packages are available for all remaining home games.
• The L. Dale Mitchell Park ticket office and entrance gates will open two hours prior to the scheduled game time. The ticket office and will call windows are located behind home plate, along W. Imhoff Rd.
• Fans can take advantage of $2 Tuesday pricing on hot dogs, popcorn and beer.
• The first 250 fans through the gates can receive a 1992 CWS pennant.
• Men's tennis head coach Nick Crowell will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

• Oklahoma is in its sixth season under the direction of head coach
Skip Johnson (including the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson, who spent the 2017 season on staff as an assistant coach, has led the Sooners to a 174-120 record, two NCAA Tournament appearances, the 2022 Big 12 tournament championship and the 2022 College World Series finals since taking over as head coach prior to the 2018 season.
• Oklahoma ranks seventh nationally and third in the Big 12 with its 197 walks, and ranks 18th nationally and fourth in the Big 12 with its 69 stolen bases. OU batters have also been hit by a pitch 41 times, totaling 238 free passes (an average of 7.2 free passes per game).
• The Sooners also rank third nationally with their 25 sacrifice flies (second in the Big 12 to nation-leading 31 by Texas Tech) and 31st nationally with 10 triples (third in Big 12; league leader Texas Tech has 14 triples).
• Junior right fielder
Bryce Madron has registered a nation-leading 41 walks in the season's first 33 games. He also ranks third nationally and first in the Big 12 by averaging 1.2 walks per contest. Freshman catcher
Easton Carmichael is tied for the Big 12 lead, tied for 13th nationally and ranks second among catchers with his four triples. Junior infielder
Anthony Mackenzie ranks 19th nationally and third in the Big 12 with his 19 stolen bases (in 21 attempts). Junior
Carter Campbell is sixth nationally and first in the Big 12 with his 19 pitching appearances (national leaders have made 22 appearances). Graduate senior
Braxton Douthit ranks fourth in the country and leads the Big 12 by allowing 4.6 hits per nine innings.
• Mackenzie and Madron have each reached in 24 straight contests. Carmichael leads the team with 12 multiple-hit games, Mackenzie and junior infielder
Dakota Harris each have 11 multiple-hit games and freshman
Rocco Garza-Gongora has 10. Carmichael leads the team with 10 multiple-RBI games while Harris has eight.
• The Sooners have registered 69 stolen bases in 89 attempts (78%) through the first 33 games of the season, which is about the same as its pace through 33 games of the 2022 season (70 for 91). Last year, OU registered 145 steals, the most by an Oklahoma club since 1989 (168 steals).
• In addition to Mackenzie's 19 steals, sophomore outfielder
John Spikerman is second on the team with 12 steals (12 for 14),
Kendall Pettis is 9 for 13 in stolen bases and Madron is 8 for 11 stealing. Twelve players have stolen at least one base this season and six players have notched at least four stolen bases.
• Mackenzie has stolen three bases in a game twice this season (vs. Abilene Christian on Feb. 22 and vs. Rider on Feb. 25). On 11 occasions, an OU player has stolen at least two bases in a game. Oklahoma registered a season-high eight steals against Rider on Feb. 25 and has stolen at least three bases seven times this season.
Series History
• This will be the 36th meeting between Oklahoma and Wichita State. The Sooners lead the series 19-16.
• WSU won 6-2 on March 14 at Eck Stadium and 8-7 on March 28 at Riverfront Stadium in Wichita, Kan.
• Oklahoma has won nine of the last 11 meetings in Norman, dating back to the 2006 season. WSU's only wins in Norman during that time were 4-2 in 2017 and 12-2 during the 2006 regular season. OU won both home games last season, defeating the Shockers 6-2 on Feb. 22 and 9-5 on April 19.
