SUNSET, S.C. ā The Oklahoma women's golf team concluded the Clemson Invitational on Sunday and finished 15th (61-over 925) at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
Kaylee Vesely led the Sooners in the tournament (T48, 9-over 225) and on the final day, recording a 1-over 73. In the final round, she was 2-over through six and tallied back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes. Vesely suffered a setback on the eighth and finished the front nine even par 36. The Austin, Texas product tallied two consecutive birdies on the 10th and 11th.
Savannah Barber tied for 57th (12-over 228) and fired a 5-over 77 in the final round. Barber tallied 14 pars in her final 18 holes.
Meagan Winans finished 73rd (21-over 237) and
Nina Lang was 77th (25-over 241). Winans recorded the second-best final round in the OU lineup on Sunday, finishing 5-over 76. Winans recorded a pair of birdies on the fourth and 17th holes. Lang opened the round with a birdie on the 17th. Down four strokes over her first seven holes, she recorded her second birdie on the sixth.
Mikhaela Fortuna did not compete in the last two rounds.
Maria Fernanda Martinez, OU's lone individual in the field, recorded a 1-over 73. Martinez started her round on the 17th hole and suffered a setback on the opening hole. After a second bogey on the third, Martinez responded with a birdie on the fourth and finished the front nine 1-over 37. She finished her round on a high note, draining a birdie on the par-5 17th hole. Martinez tied for 62nd (14-over 230).
