SUNSET, S.C. ā Oklahoma women's golf moved into a tie for 14th after the Clemson Invitational second round at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Saturday.
The Sooners (+44, 620) are tied with Columbia for 14th and are 13 strokes outs of 13th.
Kaylee Vesely led the Sooners on Saturday and finished even par 72. Vesely recorded her first birdie on the par-4 18th hole and was 1-under through eight. The Austin, Texas product dropped a stroke on the sixth and responded with a birdie on the seventh. Vesely dropped two additional strokes on the eighth and 13th holes. She concluded her round with a birdie and is tied for 49th (+8, 152).
Savannah Barber finished 2-over 74 and is tied for 46th (+7, 151). Barber opened her round with a birdie on the 14th. She dropped a stroke on the 18th and tallied two birdies in her next four holes. The Fort Worth, Texas product finished the front nine even par 36 and dropped two strokes on the 10th.
Meagan Winans and
Nina Lang rounded out the OU contingent and finished 6-over 78 and 7-over 79, respectively. Winans enters the final round tied for 73rd (+17, 161) and Lang is tied for 76th (+18, 162). Fortuna did not compete in the second round.
Maria Fernanda Martinez, OU's lone individual in the field, finished 5-over 77. Martinez is tied for 66th (13-over, 157).
