Men's Gymnasts Set to Compete at Winter Cup

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's gymnastics fifth-year senior Spencer Goodell, senior Jack Freeman and freshman Ignacio Yockers, along with other former and future Sooners, are set to compete at USA Gymnastics Winter Cup this weekend at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky.
Goodell, Freeman and Yockers will be joined by OU alumni Yul Moldauer and signee Max Bereznev in the Senior Men's Competition.
A total of nine current, former and future Sooners qualified to compete at the 2023 Winter Cup. Four had to withdraw due to either injury or illness: 2022 Winter Cup all-around champion and OU fifth-year senior Vitaliy Guimaraes, juniors Zach Nunez and Dan Simmons and OU alumnus Colin Van Wicklen.
The first session of Senior Men's competition begins at 12:30 p.m. CT Friday. The second session will be held on Sunday, beginning at 4 p.m. Both sessions will be streamed on the USA Gymnastics YouTube channel. For complete event information, including competition schedule and results, click here.
Winter Cup is a qualifying event to the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships. The Winter Cup will also culminate in the selection of the Men's Junior and Senior National Teams to be named following the competition.
