Nic Anderson was named one of 19 semifinalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award on Wednesday.
A Katy, Texas, product, Anderson has totaled 725 yards and nine touchdowns on 31 receptions. He leads the nation with his 23.4 yards per receptions and his nine touchdowns are tied for the school freshman record. He has registered at least 100 receiving yards three times this season and 90 or more receiving yards in five games.
Anderson has scored multiple touchdowns twice this season. He notched three touchdowns on three receptions with a season-high 120 yards at Tulsa and scored twice while gaining 105 yards on five receptions against UCF. He caught the game-winning touchdown against Texas with 15 seconds remaining and tallied 119 yards on four catches against West Virginia. Also a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award, he was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week and listed on the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honor Roll following his Tulsa and UCF performances.

Named after 1977 Heisman Trophy winner Earl Campbell, the award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. In addition, winners must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas high school and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college.
OU quarterbacks Baker Mayfield (2017) and Kyler Murray (2018) won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award in back-to-back years. The Sooners have produced eight finalists since 2014: Samaje Perine in 2014, Dede Westbrook in 2016, Mayfield each year from 2015-17, Murray in 2018 and Jalen Hurts and CeeDee Lamb in 2019.
