Sooners, USC Square Off in Rady Children's Invitational Championship Game

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's basketball concludes the Rady Children's Invitational against No. 23/RV USC on Friday, Nov. 24. Tip is at 2:32 p.m. CT inside LionTree Arena in San Diego, Calif. The non-conference contest will air on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (1520 AM; 95.3 FM KOKC; Varsity Radio App) with Chad McKee and Kevin Henry announcing and be broadcast by FOX with Aaron Goldsmith (PxP) and Casey Jacobsen (analyst) on the call.

OPENING TIP

• The Sooners opened the two-day, two-game tournament in San Diego with a 79-67 victory over Iowa. Junior Jalon Moore scored a season-high 18 points and added five rebounds. Sophomore Otega Oweh added 13 points and a team-high four steals and fellow sophomore Milos Uzan dished out a team-best nine assists, matching his career high.

• Oklahoma improved to 5-0 with its victory over the Hawkeyes, marking the first season since the 2019-20 campaign that OU remained perfect through the first five games.

• Junior Javian McCollum ranks 13th among NCAA DI active career leaders in free throw percentage (87.7%). In 55 career games, McCollum has made 143 free throws in 163 attempts.

2022 HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT

• Oklahoma won the 2022 ESPN Events Invitational last season, beating Nebraska, Seton Hall and Ole Miss. The Sooners opened the tournament with a 69-56 victory over the Huskers and advanced to the championship game with a 77-64 win against Seton Hall. OU capped the tournament with a 59-55 victory over Ole Miss. Grant Sherfield was named tournament MVP, averaging 15.7 points and 5.3 assists per contest.

SOPHOMORE SEASON

• Oweh appeared in 28 games and made nine starts in 2022-23, tallying 134 points, 59 rebounds and 33 steals. In five games this season, Oweh has recorded 74 points, 25 rebounds and 13 steals. The Newark, N.J., product has buried three 3-pointers, improving on the one made triple last season. Oweh has recorded four 10-plus point games this season, matching his double-digit point game tally from 2022-23.
