NORMAN – The Oklahoma baseball team will hold two exhibition scrimmages this fall at L. Dale Mitchell Park, playing host to McLennan College and UT Arlington beginning later this month.
The Sooners will host McLennan on Friday, Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. and UTA on Friday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m., both at Mitchell Park. Admission is free, and concessions and restrooms will be open. The scrimmage against McLennan was moved to Oct. 27 from the originally-scheduled Oct. 20 date.
Coming off the program's second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 40th overall, Oklahoma began fall workouts last month in preparation for the 2024 spring season.
The Sooners finished the 2023 season at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional and are entering their seventh year under the direction of head coach
Skip Johnson.
Oklahoma returned 17 players from the 2023 roster and welcomed 25 newcomers, nine of which are true freshmen. Seven newcomers are transfers from a four-year school and nine others transferred from a junior college. The roster includes four catchers, 23 pitchers, 10 infielders and eight outfielders (including athletes who can play both infield and outfield).

This summer, Johnson brought in former OU player and Division I head coach
Todd Butler as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, and hired former volunteer coach
Russell Raley as assistant coach. Associate head coach
Reggie Willits is back for his third year on staff with the Sooners.
