Sooners Wrap Up Illini Women's, Dale McNamara Invitationals

MEDINAH, Ill. – Oklahoma women's golf finished 12th (16-over, 880) and sophomore Savannah Barber tied for 25th (even, 226) at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club on Tuesday. Barber concluded the tournament with a 3-under 69, recording the best round by a Sooner.
The Sooners tallied rounds of 299-294-287 and were one of seven teams to finish round three under par.
Barber opened the tournament with rounds of 74-73 and entered the final day tied for 38th. The Forth Worth, Texas product started with a trio of pars and drained her first birdie on the par-4 14th. After a one-stroke setback on the 15th, Barber recorded two birdies in her next four holes, moving to 2-under through nine. She dropped another stroke on the second and finished her round with birdies on the fourth and ninth.
Sophomore Isabelle Schlick tied for 33rd (2-over, 218) and tallied rounds of 73-71-74. Schlick started on the 10th and finished the back nine even after a bogey on the 11th and birdie on the 12th. The Bad Hamburg, Germany product recorded her final birdie on the fifth, finishing the front nine 2-over 38.
Freshman Holly McLean and junior Reagan Chaney tied for 55th (7-over 223). McLean fired a 1-under 71 and Chaney a 1-over 73 to conclude the tournament.
McLean started her round on the 12th hole and moved to 2-over through six. The Grand Cayman product opened the front nine with three pars and gained a stroke with a birdie on the fourth. After two additional pars, McLean recorded an eagle on the par-5 seventh hole. She wrapped up the front nine with a birdie on nine, finishing 4-under 32.
Chaney opened her round with a par on the 11th and moved to 2-under through six with birdies on the 12th and 16th holes. After a one-stroke setback on the 17th, Chaney moved back to 2-under with a birdie on the third. She dropped five strokes between the fourth and six holes and responded with a birdie on the ninth.
Sophomore Emily Hun rounded out the OU lineup, posting rounds of 78-76-78. Hun finished 75th (16-over, 232). She wrapped up the tournament with four birdies in her final round, including three on the back nine.
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Seniors Kayla Vesely and Nina Lang wrapped up the Dale McNamara Invitational at Golf Club of Oklahoma on Tuesday and tied for 15th (1-ove, 217) and 23rd (3-over, 219), respectively.
Vesely opened the tournament with rounds of 74-71-72, finishing 1-over 217. Lang finished 3-over 219 and tallied rounds of 75-69-75.
Vesely started her final 18 on the 14th hole and dropped a stroke on the 15th. The Austin, Texas product tallied five birdies in her next eight holes, moving to 4-under through 10. Vesely dropped four strokes in the next four holes and recorded her sixth birdie to open the back nine. She tallied a bogey on the 11th and concluded the tournament with back-to-back pars.
Lang started her round with four consecutive pars and moved to 2-under through eight after birdies on the 18th and third holes. The Ingolstadt, Germany product tallied a double bogey on the fourth and finished the front nine 3-over 39. Lang opened the back nine with three pars and concluded the round with a bogey.
