NORMAN — University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics alumnus and two-time Olympic medalist Jonathan Horton was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame this weekend during a ceremony at the 2022 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Tampa, Fla.

One of the most decorated gymnastics in U.S. men's gymnastics history, Horton was a six-time individual NCAA champion and 18-time All-American at OU, helping the Sooners to three NCAA titles throughout his time in Norman.

On the national and international level, Horton was a two-time Olympian (2008, '12), winning a pair of medals for the U.S. The Cypress, Texas, product took home a silver medal on high bar in 2008 and helped the U.S. men to a bronze-medal finish at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In 2012, Horton finished sixth on high bar and was part of a fifth-place team finish for the U.S. in London.

Additionally, Horton holds two World Championships medals, four U.S. titles and an Olympic Trials all-around title. As a Sooner, Horton is tied with fellow Olympian Yul Moldauer for the program record with his 18 All-America honors and is second in program history with his six individual titles. Horton won the NCAA all-around, floor and still rings crowns in 2006, the floor national title in 2007 and rings his senior season in 2008.

Horton is one of seven members of the USAG Hall of Fame Class of 2022 and becomes the fourth Oklahoma men's gymnastics coach or athlete to be inducted into the hall of fame. He joins current head coach Mark Williams (2015 inductee), former coach Paul Ziert (2006) and two-time Olympic gold medalist Bart Conner (1996).

Horton retired from competitive gymnastics in 2016 and has since become a successful entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker.
